Associate Director, Technical Accounting & M&A

<p><span style="color: #222222;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Position Summary</span></strong></span></p> <p style="color: !important; font-size: 14px !important;"><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">The Associate Director of Technical Accounting & M&A will play a key role in supporting complex accounting matters, including technical accounting research, implementation of new accounting standards, and accounting for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. This role will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP. font-size: 14px !important;"><span style="color: #222222;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Key Responsibilities</span></strong></span></p> <p style="color: !important; font-size: 14px !important;"><span style="color: #222222;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Technical Accounting</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, including preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers for complex transactions.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Evaluate and implement new accounting standards and assess impacts on financial statements, processes, and controls.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Advise on accounting implications for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, business combinations, equity transactions, and other non-routine items.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Support quarterly and annual close processes by reviewing complex journal entries and disclosures.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Partner with external auditors to support audits and reviews, including responding to technical accounting inquiries.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> <p style="color: !important; font-size: 14px !important;"><span style="color: #222222;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">M&A and Strategic Transactions</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Lead accounting due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Prepare and review purchase price accounting, including valuation inputs, opening balance sheets, goodwill, and intangible assets.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Coordinate with Tax, Legal, FP&A, and external advisors to ensure accurate transaction accounting and integration.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Support post-acquisition integration from an accounting and reporting perspective.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> <p style="color: !important; font-size: 14px !important;"><span style="color: #222222;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px;">Required</span></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">CPA required.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:</span></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred).</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Industry experience in a technical accounting or reporting role.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements (if applicable).</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Hands-on experience with M&A accounting and purchase accounting.</span></span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 14px !important;"> <p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Proven ability to write clear, well-supported technical accounting memos.</span></span></p> </li> </ul> <p style="color: !important;
