Are you passionate about advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing through process simulation and data analysis? We offer an exciting thesis opportunity to develop and apply roller compaction simulation for early drug product development, optimizing process parameters, material characterization, and formulation design—all while leveraging digital tools and in silico modeling to drive innovation in drug development!
About AstraZeneca:
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-centred biopharmaceutical company focusing on discovering, developing, and commercializing prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than a global leading pharmaceutical company. At AstraZeneca, we're dedicated to being a Great Place to Work and empowering employees to push the boundaries of science and fuel their entrepreneurial spirit.
About the Opportunity:
As a Thesis Worker at AstraZeneca, you’ll find an environment that’s full of unique opportunities and exciting challenges. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue your areas of interest whilst equally developing a broad skillset and knowledge base to get the best out of your experience. You’ll be working on meaningful projects to make an impact and deliver real value for our patients and our business.
Thesis work description:
This project will advance the use of roller compaction simulation to accelerate drug product development. Miniaturization significantly reduce drug substance usage, making drug product development available earlier and at a lower cost. You will investigate roller compaction process design and key process parameters optimization using miniaturized simulations . Material characterization methods—including particle size distribution and flow properties—will be used to evaluate comparisons between processes. The project can also employ digital tools for thorough data analysis and process modelling to support the development of innovative manufacturing strategies.
