Moderna is strengthening its international business services hub in Warsaw, supporting our growing global operations. We welcome professionals ready to help advance our mission and shape the future of mRNA medicines.
In this role, you will serve as a global technical authority across SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable, OpenText VIM, and Procure-to-Pay ecosystems.
You will architect and optimize end-to-end invoice-to-pay capabilities, driving automation, compliance, and financial integrity at scale.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Moderna’s global straight-through-processing strategy while embedding advanced digital, AI, and automation capabilities across finance operations.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Serve as the SAP subject matter expert for FI-AP, OpenText VIM, Bank Accounting, and Procure-to-Pay (STP), with a strong understanding of downstream Record-to-Report (RTR) impacts.
Own the configuration and continuous optimization of Accounts Payable processes, including vendor invoice intake, validation, parked/posting logic, tolerances, payment terms, duplicate invoice prevention, withholding tax, and vendor open item management.
Lead the design, implementation, and support of OpenText VIM, including document intake, OCR and intelligent invoice capture, indexing, validation rules, approval workflows, exception handling, dashboards, and operational reporting.
Drive touchless invoice processing strategies to maximize straight-through-processing rates, reducing manual intervention across both PO and non-PO invoice flows.
Partner closely with Procurement and business stakeholders to optimize 2-way and 3-way matching, improve invoice exception handling, resolve GR/IR discrepancies, and ensure supplier invoicing compliance.
Lead integration across procurement platforms and channels, including Ariba, supplier portals, EDI, OCR, and intelligent document processing technologies.
Own and deliver global government e-invoicing initiatives, including integration with partners such as EDICOM, enabling country-specific mandates, and ensuring ongoing compliance monitoring.
Oversee payment-related SAP functionality, including payment program configuration, payment methods, payment blocks, approval workflows, bank file generation, and secure transmission to banking platforms.
Lead global banking integrations using ISO20022 standards, including formats such as pain.001, camt.053, and camt.054, while maintaining bank connectivity, house bank structures, and reconciliation frameworks.
Support end-to-end payment operations, including exception handling, traceability, and reconciliation between AP subledger, banking activity, and the general ledger.
Ensure strong alignment with RTR processes, including period-end close, accruals, AP aging, invoice reconciliation, and audit-ready financial controls.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications and lead testing cycles including Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT, alongside defect resolution, deployment support, and hypercare.
Drive continuous improvement through automation and innovation, leveraging AI, ML, OCR, and RPA to improve KPIs such as touchless rate, cycle time, exception rates, late payments, and processing productivity.
Maintain SOX compliance, audit controls, and comprehensive documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and global standards.
Deliver training and support global rollout and localization of AP and VIM processes across regions.
The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:
“We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”
