Job Title

Program Manager - Indirect Tax (all genders)

Job Description

You will lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives across regions and functions, establish and scale PMO capabilities for the Indirect Tax portfolio, and work hands‑on with Indirect Tax SMEs to ensure high‑quality, timely, and compliant delivery.

Reporting directly to the Head of Indirect Tax Process, based in the Netherlands, you will serve as the only dedicated project manager within a global team of more than 80 Indirect Tax professionals across LATAM, EMEA, APAC, and NAM.

You will be responsible not only for leading complex Indirect Tax programs and regulatory readiness initiatives but also for building PMO capabilities from the ground up—introducing program governance, project controls, operating rhythms, and portfolio transparency tailored to the needs of a fast‑evolving tax environment.

Your role:

Program & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the E2E execution of Indirect Tax programs (e‑invoicing mandates, process simplification and transitions, master‑data improvements, regulatory changes).
  • Build and institutionalize PMO capabilities for the Indirect Tax portfolio, including governance models, RAID management, standardized templates, and project performance dashboards.
  • Drive discipline, structure, and consistency across all Indirect Tax initiatives, enabling scalability and transparency.

Strategic Alignment & Objective Management

  • Translate the Indirect Tax strategy into actionable programs with aligned KPIs, timelines, and measurable deliverables.
  • Work directly with the Head of Indirect Tax Process to ensure programs support global compliance, simplification, automation, and long‑term operating model evolution.

Collaboration with Content Leaders (Indirect Tax SMEs)

  • Partner closely with SMEs to structure requirements, map tax scenarios, build UAT plans, and ensure documentation quality.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional workshops, global alignment sessions, and decision‑making forums.
  • Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Operate confidently in a complex environment, connecting Tax, IT, Finance, Procurement, Order Management, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational readiness, training, handovers, and controlled deployment of changes.
  • Represent the Indirect Tax Process organization as a trusted expert on project management excellence.

You're the right fit if:

  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 7 years managing cross‑functional, complex programs in regulated or transformation-driven environments.
  • Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent.
  • Proven experience building or maturing PMO capabilities, portfolio governance, and project controls.
  • Strong ability to work hands‑on with SMEs, structuring content-heavy topics and enabling execution.
  • Exceptional organization, planning, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clear messages and structured plans.
  • Ability to lead in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving environment with shifting regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Experience in Indirect Tax, Finance transformation, ERP (SAP), or regulatory programs is a strong plus—yet not mandatory if PM leadership experience is exceptional.
  • High relationship‑building skills and influencing capability across all organizational levels.
  • English fluency at a minimum C1 level (advanced), with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken form.
