The Data Historian Engineer will design, implement, and maintain systems that collect, store, and analyse large volumes of time-series data from industrial processes (PLCs, SCADA) for operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and regulatory compliance, integrating with automation platforms. This includes managing system lifecycles, equipment qualification and validation, troubleshooting issues, supporting cross-functional teams, and providing technical expertise for data-driven decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
System Design & Implementation: Configure and deploy historian platforms and data interfaces to manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Data Integration: Connect with PLCs, SCADA, DCS systems and other enterprise systems (LIMS, ERP).
Qualification and support: Writing and executing validation protocols and providing technical support.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GMP).
Collaboration: Work with automation, IT, engineering, and operations teams.
Perform other tasks as required.
About you
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Experience with computerised validation systems.
Aveva experience (preferred).
Skilled in data modelling and contextualisation, turning data into meaningful insights.
