What You Will Achieve

In this role,:

• We are seeking a China Cloud Engineer who will manage all Cloud engineering activities in China. This includes cloud hosting services (AWS China, Azure China), servers, storage, networks, and operating systems. The role requires strong hands-on implementation skills, ensuring infrastructure solutions are delivered in alignment with global engineering standards, lifecycle processes, and strict compliance with China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) and related regulations.

  The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with global engineering teams, local application teams, security & compliance leads, and operations teams to follow global standards with respect to design, implement, and support infrastructure that enables secure and compliant business operations in China.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

  • Follow Global Standards with respect to Design, implement, and manage primarily AWS China Cloud services.

  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure for servers, storage, networks, and operating systems.

  • Work closely with Global team on automation for provisioning, monitoring, patching, and scaling.

  • Ensure infrastructure meets business needs and global design principles.

  • Design and Deploy IaaS using Terraform

• 2. Compliance & Security

  • Ensure all infrastructure engineering activities comply with PIPL, DSL, and CSL.

  • Work with Security & Compliance leads to implement encryption, IAM, and audit controls.

  • Document engineering standards and ensure readiness for audits.

• 3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with local application teams to capture new cloud requirements.

  • Align with global engineering teams to integrate new capabilities into China deployments.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth handover of engineered solutions.

• 4. Lifecycle & Standards

  • Ensure infrastructure is aligned with global lifecycle policies (patching, upgrades, refresh).

  • Standardize builds and configurations to match global engineering templates.

  • Track capacity, performance, and cost optimization for infrastructure.

• 5. Continuous Improvement

  • Explore and recommend new technologies in line with global strategies.

  • Improve automation, monitoring, and self-service capabilities.

  • Contribute to engineering best practices and knowledge sharing.

• Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • 5–8 years in IT infrastructure/cloud engineering.

    • Hands-on experience primarily on AWS China with add-on experience on Azure China.

    • Knowledge of servers, storage, networks, OS.

    • Experience with tools like Terraform, GitHub, Ansible, or ARM templates (preferred).

  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of China PIPL, DSL, CSL.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and hands-on implementation capability.

    • Fluent in Mandarin & English.

    • Strong collaboration skills with global and local teams.

• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • % of infrastructure deployments aligned with global standards.

  • % compliance with PIPL and regulatory requirements.

  • Timely delivery of new infrastructure solutions for application/business needs.

  • Successful handover to operations (zero major post-handover issues).

  • Cost, performance, and scalability improvements delivered.
