AMPHOTERICIN B (amphotericin b) by Entera Bio is mechanism of action amphotericin b, the active ingredient of amphotericin b liposome for injection, acts by binding to the sterol component, ergosterol, of the cell membrane of susceptible fungi. Approved for cryptococcal meningitis in hiv-infected patients (see ), unacceptable toxicity precludes the use of amphotericin b deoxycholate, visceral leishmaniasis. First approved in 1995.
