ACCRETROPIN (somatropin) is a recombinant human growth hormone indicated for growth hormone deficiency (GHD) in pediatric and adult patients. It works by binding to growth hormone receptors on target cells, triggering intracellular signaling that induces production of IGF-1 and other growth-promoting proteins, ultimately stimulating skeletal growth, protein synthesis, and metabolic effects. The drug promotes linear growth in children with GHD by enhancing chondrocyte differentiation and proliferation in the growth plates.
