Upgrade to Pro — $25/moWe are seeking a seasoned and visionary leader to serve as Vice President, Medical Affairs. This executive will bring a proven track record of success in pharmaceutical leadership and medical affairs experience, ideally in ophthalmology across retina, glaucoma, dry eye, and cornea/external disease. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in medical strategy and cross-functional team leadership, with a passion for advancing innovation in ophthalmology. This role will be pivotal in driving medical affairs strategy, building scientific evidence, and fueling launch trajectories for our ophthalmic product portfolio.
Medical Affairs
• Develop and implement medical affairs strategies to support pre-launch and post-launch activities.
• Drive scientific dissemination through publications, presentations, and Key Opinion Leader engagement.
• Serve as the internal expert on ophthalmic diseases, providing strategic input across Research & Development, regulatory, and commercial functions.
Scientific Evidence & Launch Support
• Build and lead cross-functional teams to generate and communicate compelling scientific evidence.
• Support successful product launches through strategic medical planning and stakeholder engagement.
Leadership & Strategy
• Build and mentor a high-performing medical affairs team.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to shape corporate strategy and investor communications.
• Represent the company at scientific, regulatory, and industry forums.
• MA, MS, MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• 15+ years of experience in ophthalmology, with leadership roles in clinical development and medical affairs.
• Demonstrated success in supporting product launches.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across medical and commercial functions.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and clinical operations.
· The role requires the ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including domestic and possible international trips.
This position requires the ability to:
· Travel which may involve driving a car or utilizing other forms of transportation like planes, trains, or taxis. Must be able to navigate various environments, including office buildings, parking lots, outdoor settings, and transit centers.
· Operate a computer and communicate effectively in a remote work environment.
· Sit for extended periods, engage in video or phone meetings, and use standard office equipment.
· Lift and transport materials up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Compensation
The base salary range for the Vice President, Medical Affairs is $300,000-$340,000 USD annually. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including but not limited to experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
