Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility
The primary responsibility of the Snr Specialist APSA, Regional Procurement is to provide indirect procurement and supplier management support to many Asia, Pacific and Southern Africa (APSA) sites, in a leadership role with site stakeholders and suppliers.
Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is managing the indirect procurement function across multiple APSA sites (and at times will support AHTS direct), building relationships with key global, APSA regional and country stakeholders, and ensuring global/regional/local sourcing category management is carried out in accordance with country / regional stakeholder input and global category management guidance.
The position represents AH-GSM regionally and locally, understanding commercial business and AHTS manufacturing needs, supply strategies, in country requirements and manages the portfolio of indirect & AHTS direct suppliers for the APSA region. The role resources and implements regional & local sourcing initiatives locally. Identifies and documents cost reduction and profit plan improvements. Additionally, is responsible for planning and conducting negotiations as well as leading and conducting RFPs, RFQs and quotation analysis for Indirect spend.
The Snr Specialist APSA, Regional Procurement sits within the Animal Health Global Supplier Management (AH-GSM) organization and reports to Assoc. Director, APSA Indirect Procurement.
Primary Activities – Accountabilities, Supervision,
Primary activities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership
· As an individual leader for AH-GSM in the APSA region and Indirect categories of spend, responsible to
o develop and then implement regional and sourcing strategy
o ensure alignment with relevant category and business leads
o ensure compliance across indirect & AHTS direct categories; and
o delivery of commitments in strategy(ies)
· Build outstanding relationships with assigned market stakeholders
· Adopt high quality change practices with stakeholders and suppliers to enable change management as required to support aligned Indirect & AHTS Direct Procurement activities across the region
Performance
· Deliver ongoing savings and payment term commitments as required, as well as meeting the stakeholder business requirements
· Actively support various both within the organization as well as expanding relationships and spend with Suppliers across APSA assigned markets
· Implement Supplier Value Management with the key suppliers in this category to foster innovation, manage supplier performance, establish a Governance Model, and ensure continuous improvement.
Documentation and PV Responsibilities
· Maintain all documentation in accordance with Company and relevant quality standards.
· Undergo PV training to ensure that you are familiar with the required reporting processes and timelines for Adverse Events and Product Quality complaints
· Ensure that all potential PV and Product Quality Complaint information encountered during marketing activities is reported as per the PV reporting processes and timelines described in your local and global PV/ PQC training.
· Liaise with the PV team to ensure where necessary any agreements with suppliers cover the necessary aspects of PV for the work that is to be undertaken
EHS
· Ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
· Ensure all employees receive such EHS information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to perform their work in a manner that is safe and without significant risk to health or the environment.
· Ensure compilation of EHS reports as required by senior management, regulatory authorities and others.
· Ensure scheduled audits and inspections (for which you are responsible) are conducted and necessary corrective actions are developed and completed.
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications and Competencies required
(include specific skill levels required to apply the organization's Leadership Standards)
· 5-7+ years in Indirect Procurement / Supplier Management within a multi-national corporate / matrix organization setting
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
· Strong leadership, problem solving, and team building abilities and sensitivity to cultures
· Ability to drive change and overcome obstacles while maintaining an inclusive culture
· Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and manage the change required to execute
· Strong negotiating and contracting skills
· High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with dynamic situations
· Ability to work with senior management with professionalism
· Experience working with internal legal operations and a solid understanding of contract law
· Demonstrated ability to work well with people from many different disciplines
· Knowledge of Procurement, Supply Chain and/or related business processes desirable
