Description
<p>The System Manager – Laboratory Enterprise Systems is responsible for the administration, optimization, and governance of key laboratory informatics platforms such as ELN and CDS. This role ensures system performance, compliance, lifecycle management, and seamless integration with the broader IT landscape to support scientific and operational needs across the laboratory environment.</p><p></p><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3><p><strong>System Administration, Configuration & Governance</strong></p><ul><li>Operate, maintain, and monitor laboratory enterprise systems (e.g., ELN, CDS)</li><li>Ensure system performance, reliability, security, and compliance with internal and external standards</li><li>Ensuring an efficient setup for operations, monitoring and measurement of system</li><li>Customize and configure applications to meet evolving business and scientific requirements</li><li>Establish and maintain governance policies, documentation, and best practices for data integrity and system usage</li><li>Develop, maintain, and validate interfaces between laboratory systems and other corporate solutions (e.g., ERP, LIMS, instrument software)</li><li>General Laboratory Admin Tasks: Support laboratory hard- and software administration including setup and configuration of measurement devices, instrument connectivity, and troubleshooting</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Lifecycle Management</strong></p><ul><li>Lead or participate in vendor evaluations and system selection processes</li><li>Implement new platforms, including planning, validation, deployment, and user onboarding</li><li>Continuously assess system performance, usage, and technical roadmaps</li><li>Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field</li><li>+5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably from pharma, biotech or another regulated industry</li><li>Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, structured, and self-organized working style</li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across IT and scientific functions</li><li>Experience in system administration and enterprise platforms, ideally in a laboratory, R&D, or scientific environment</li><li>Experience with integration architectures and technologies (e.g., REST APIs, middleware) is an advantage</li><li>Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus</li></ul><p>Experience from a fast‑growing organization and experience with agile or product‑oriented methodologies will be considered an advantage</p><p></p><p><strong>Key competencies</strong></p><p>You are a strong team player, analytical, and have a can-do attitude </p><p>You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and can thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are key</p><p>In Global IT, we operate as self‑organizing teams where shared ownership is fundamental to our success.
