The Role & What You Will Be Doing
This role is responsible for supporting and continuously enhancing Viatris’ global Supply Chain Planning Systems landscape for External Supply operations. The position focuses on ensuring data integrity, process standardization, operational reliability, and effective end-user support across integrated supply chain planning applications.
The successful candidate will serve as an experienced Functional Planning & Execution Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Supply Chain Planning Processes and Operations (SPPO), supporting planning processes, master data governance, reporting accuracy, and cross-functional systems integration.
This role is operationally critical to maintaining resilient, data-driven supply chain operations and supporting ongoing supply chain systems enhancement and modernization initiatives across the global network.
The position works closely with Supply Chain, ERP Solutions, Master Data Governance, and Digital Supply Chain teams to support process optimization, operational excellence, and scalable planning system capabilities.

Serve as a functional SME supporting Supply Chain Planning systems for External Supply operations, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and process compliance.
Partner with ERP Solutions and Digital Supply Chain teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system or process-related issues, including requirements gathering, change request development, testing coordination, validation, and implementation support.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning process optimization, automation, master data quality, reporting enhancement, and operational efficiency improvements.
Evaluate the business impact of SAP, SAP S/4HANA, RapidResponse, and related ERP system changes, upgrades, and implementations, ensuring effective communication and readiness support across SPPO teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, Procurement, and Master Data teams to maintain accurate and reliable planning master data and transactional data governance.
Manage vertically owned master data domains, ensuring robust controls, standardization, governance, and compliance to support consistent end-to-end system performance.
Perform proactive data analysis and system monitoring to identify process inefficiencies, planning inconsistencies, and data integrity risks; implement corrective and preventive actions as required.
Develop, maintain, and deliver end-user training programs, user documentation, and process guidance for both general and role-specific supply chain systems usage.
Ensure compliance with global SOPs, planning standards, data governance policies, and supply chain operational best practices.
Support supply chain systems modernization and enhancement initiatives through participation in cross-functional projects involving planning technologies, analytics, integration capabilities, and process improvements.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), process validation, and deployment activities for system enhancements and new capabilities.
Provide reporting and KPI analysis to support operational performance management and decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support alignment across operational and technical teams.
Support change management, user adoption, and process compliance activities associated with planning systems enhancements and operational improvements.

About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Computer Science, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Supply Chain Planning Systems, ERP platforms, or Supply Chain Operations within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other complex global operating environment.
• Strong functional expertise in SAP Supply Chain processes and master data management, including planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics integration.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP and supply chain planning technologies such as SAP APO, SAP IBP, RapidResponse, SAP S/4HANA, or equivalent planning solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in master data governance, data quality management, and supply chain systems support.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.
• Experience supporting cross-functional process improvement and systems implementation initiatives.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to support change management, facilitate process adoption, and communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Working knowledge of reporting, analytics, data visualization, and enterprise planning tools is preferred.
• Experience working within regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environments, including awareness of GxP and compliance requirements preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD) or equivalent supply chain certification.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning processes including demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and external manufacturing operations.
• Experience with RapidResponse, SAP APO, SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, Advanced Planning & Optimization tools, or other advanced planning systems.
• Exposure to supply chain systems modernization initiatives, automation technologies, and process standardization programs.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, ERP integrations, and supply chain analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting integrated planning ecosystems and cross-platform data flows between ERP, planning, analytics, and master data systems.
• Experience participating in global system deployments, ERP upgrades, or business transformation initiatives.
• Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification is a plus.
• Basic understanding of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics/reporting tools is advantageous.
• Experience supporting cloud-based planning solutions and next-generation digital supply chain platforms is highly desirable.
Work Model: Hybrid / Remote
This role operates in a flexible hybrid/remote environment with collaboration across global teams and functions. Limited travel may be required to support business initiatives, workshops, system implementations, or operational alignment activities.
