The Senior Medical Manager (Neurology) provides medical and scientific leadership to the cross‑functional 3M team (Marketing, Sales, and Medical) to enable effective execution of the local medical strategy. This role adapts global Biogen medical guidelines to the specific needs in Mexico, while delivering high‑quality medical support across marketed products and clinical development programs. The position also supports the Medical Director through execution of operational, office‑based Medical Affairs activities in full compliance with local and global standards.
What you’ll do
Adapt global Biogen medical guidelines to develop and implement the local medical strategy for Mexico
Provide medical and scientific support to Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Market Access, Legal, and Compliance teams
Support the Medical Director through execution of operational Medical Affairs activities
Coordinate and manage medical publications, including development and submission of scientific papers
Lead and participate in scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders
Deliver and contribute to Medical Science training programs and training materials for internal stakeholders
Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, including pharmacovigilance and safety reporting requirements
Provide medical oversight for Patient Support Programs in alignment with local regulations and global SOPs
Support regulatory strategies for new product registrations and line extensions to accelerate launches
Who you are
You are a medically qualified professional with strong scientific credibility and the ability to partner effectively with both internal stakeholders and external healthcare professionals in a highly regulated environment.
Required skills
Mastera or doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (Pharm.D., D.Sc., Master, Ph.D., or M.D.)
At least 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on specialty care, particularly in Neuroscience and/or in rare disease or high specialty therapies.
Prior experience in Neurology is strongly preferred.
Proven competence in developing strategies and improving capabilities
Superior project management experience including demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
Strong scientific understanding and ability to communicate complex scientific data and topics.
Proactive in proposing innovative projects based on customer/patients' needs.
Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Leadership experience.
Fluent in English
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred skills
Postgraduate medical qualification.
Experience in commercially oriented roles.
Experience supporting or managing clinical trials with understanding of GCP.
Understanding of health economics principles.
Technical expertise in neurology disease and therapy areas.
Experience working within ABPI Code of Practice.
