About the role
The Specialty Care (Respiratory) Commercial Lead is responsible for shaping and executing the products strategy within the International Region, ensuring alignment with global product strategy and adapting to local market needs. The role will drive launch readiness, accelerate portfolio execution, strengthen patient access, and build commercial excellence capabilities.
Operating as an individual contributor, the role requires high focus, agility, and the ability to influence a matrixed organization. A key priority is to maximize value across the region by ensuring launch excellence, embedding best practices, and building future pipeline readiness.
What you’ll do
Strategic Leadership – Define and drive the Specialty Care Respiratory portfolio strategy for the International Region, ensuring alignment with global priorities while tailoring to local dynamics.
Portfolio Oversight – Oversee the Specialty Care Respiratory portfolio to identify growth opportunities, maximize value creation, and accelerate launches.
Launch Excellence – Partner with Country GMs/BUDs and sub regions to support launch planning and execution, ensuring robust go-to-market models and readiness across sub-regions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Government Affairs, and Commercial teams in countries, regionally and globally to ensure patient access, differentiation, and competitive advantage.
Capability Building – Embed best practices, coach LOCs and sub-regional teams, and ensure excellence across international markets.
Governance & Stakeholder Management – Represent the International Region at global product forums, providing strategic inputs, market insights, and performance updates.
Innovation & Patient Engagement – Champion innovative, patient-focused approaches, leveraging real-world evidence and digital tools to strengthen product and portfolio impact.
Market Insight & Foresight – Anticipate portfolio evolution, track competitive landscape, and recommend strategies to achieve and maintain GSK leadership.
Leadership Without Line Authority – Influence and align diverse stakeholders across countries and sub-regions, operating effectively without direct reporting lines.
Future Readiness – Develop long-term strategies for lifecycle management, pipeline launches, and sustainable growth across the Therapy Area.
Required qualifications & experience
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in science, Medicine, Pharmacy, or Business
Minimum 10 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, or Commercial roles in the pharmaceutical/biopharma industry.
Demonstrated in-market experience in brand strategy, launch/ commercialization and portfolio management (preferably in Specialty Care Respiratory assets)
Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional environments across countries/regions.
Strong interpersonal and influential skills, with proven ability to lead without direct authority.
Digitally savvy, comfortable with data-driven insights, and self-motivated to drive change.
Fluency in English required; a second regional language desirable.
Preferred
Master’s degree (MBA in Business / Pharmaceutical management or related discipline).
Demonstrated multiple market experience in brand strategy, launch/ commercialization and portfolio management (preferably in Specialty Care Respiratory assets)
Experience as a General Manager, Business Unit Head, or senior combined sales and marketing leader.
Prior exposure to launch excellence frameworks and commercial excellence initiatives.
Experience working in any markets in the International Region.
Demonstrated ability to use data and digital tools to shape decisions and measure impact.
Track record of coaching and developing high‑performing, inclusive teams.
Knowledge, skills & competencies
Requires scientific and commercial expertise to shape portfolio strategies. Applies knowledge of disease areas, patient access, regulatory pathways, and commercial models to adapt global strategy to local market needs.
Anticipates potential barriers in launches, access, and lifecycle management and mitigates/solves for these demonstrating problem solving ability.
Partners with medical, regulatory, access, and commercial colleagues within country, at region and globally maximizing asset and portfolio value.
