ABOUT THE ROLE
Software Engineer – Precision Medicine
Role Description:
The Software Engineer within the Precision Medicine Portfolio is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-quality software solutions that enable data visibility, insights, and advanced analytics across Amgen’s R&D ecosystem. This role supports technology platforms that provide scientists, researchers, and business users with access to complex human datasets, study metadata, and analytical outputs that accelerate discovery and speed to market of precision medicines.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong full-stack development capabilities, with emphasis on Python-based backend services, modern front-end frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and data-intensive platforms. The Software Engineer will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Data Engineers, UX designers, and other engineers to translate business and scientific requirements into reliable, secure, and performant software solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, experience working in Agile and SAFe environments, and a passion for building data-driven products that deliver meaningful impact to end users.
