Job Title: Mechanical Engineer InternLocation: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. What You’ll DoWe are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the development and verification of next-generation surgical robotic systems. This summer will be focused heavily on design verification testing, test fixture and manufacturing tooling development, process development, failure investigation, and documentation. The intern will work closely with senior engineers to execute tests, improve test methods, document results, support root-cause investigations, and help build the tools and processes needed to mature the design toward manufacturing readiness. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who likes building, testing, troubleshooting, and turning messy engineering problems into clear data and actionable next steps.- Support design verification and characterization testing of robotic hardware, mechanisms, fixtures, and assemblies.
- Assist with protocol development, test execution, data collection, statistical analysis, and report writing.
- Build, modify, and improve test fixtures, manufacturing tools, and lab setups.
- Support process development for assembly, inspection, rework, and manufacturing readiness.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and assist with root-cause investigations.
- Document test results, build observations, fixture designs, process learnings, and failure investigations.
- Work with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to support summer build and verification activities.
- Participate in design reviews, test reviews, and team discussions with clear technical updates.
