The Sanofi Patient Support Services (PSS) team is the cornerstone of patient access excellence, delivering comprehensive reimbursement navigation, logistics optimization, financial assistance programs, and patient education through innovative digital platforms and AI-enhanced solutions. As Senior PSP Strategy Advisor, you will serve as the strategic architect and cross-functional integrator for Patient Support Program (PSP) strategy across Sanofi Canada's Specialty Care and General Medicine portfolios. This role is the critical link between the PSS department and Marketing and Finance teams, ensuring PSP strategy is seamlessly integrated into brand strategic plans, tactical plans, and the Integrated Brand Planning (IBP) cycle. You will shape portfolio-wide PSP strategy, advise brand PSP Leads, and drive strategic planning processes that align patient support investments with business objectives and patient access outcomes.

This position requires a seasoned strategic advisor with deep expertise in patient support program design, cross-functional business partnering, financial planning, and the ability to influence without authority across complex matrix organizations. The role reports to the Head, Patient Support Services Canada and is based in Toronto (North York), ON, with hybrid work flexibility.

Main Responsibilities:

PSP Portfolio Strategy & Advisory Leadership

• Develops and maintains the overarching Patient Support Program (PSP) strategy across the full product portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities, therapeutic area objectives, and patient access goals
• Serves as strategic advisor to brand-specific PSP Leads, providing expert guidance on program design, optimization, and strategic decision-making
• Translates market insights, competitive intelligence, and patient access trends into actionable strategic recommendations that shape PSP investments and priorities
• Champions innovation and continuous improvement across the PSP portfolio, identifying opportunities to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and program value

Strategic & Tactical Planning Integration (IBP Leadership)

• Leads PSS participation in the Integrated Brand Planning (IBP) cycle, serving as the primary PSS interface with Marketing and Finance teams for brand strategy development and tactical process planning
• Partners with PSP Leads and Marketing teams to ensure PSP strategy is embedded in brand strategic plans, launch excellence frameworks, and go-to-market strategies
• Collaborates with Finance teams to align PSP investments with budget cycles, long-range planning (LRP), and financial forecasting processes
• Facilitates cross-functional alignment on PSP priorities, resource allocation, and investment decisions across Specialty Care and General Medicine divisions

Financial Strategy & Business Case Development

• Provides subject matter expertise in PSP financial planning, budget optimization, and portfolio-level resource allocation across multi-million dollar investments
• Delivers executive-level financial insights, variance analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Drives financial stewardship and accountability across the PSP portfolio, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize patient access and business outcomes
• Leads long-range planning (LRP) processes for PSS, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives and strategic priorities

Compliance, Risk & Governance Oversight

• Ensures PSP strategy and planning processes incorporate comprehensive regulatory compliance frameworks, including Health Canada regulations, provincial health authority requirements, and pharmaceutical advertising standards
• Provides strategic oversight of compliance KPIs, risk assessment protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives across the PSP portfolio
• Partners with Compliance, Legal, and Quality teams to ensure patient support programs meet the highest standards of regulatory adherence and ethical practice
• Monitors privacy and data protection compliance (PIPEDA, GDPR where applicable) and ensures vendor partnerships meet compliance and quality standards
• Maintains audit readiness and champions a culture of compliance excellence across all PSS strategic planning activities

Digital Innovation & Advanced Analytics

• Champions the integration of digital health technologies, AI-powered insights, and advanced analytics into PSP strategy and program design
• Leverages data analytics to identify patient access barriers, predict program performance, and optimize PSP delivery models
• Drives digital transformation initiatives that enhance patient engagement, improve access outcomes, and deliver measurable value
• Collaborates with IT, Digital Health, and Data Science teams to implement next-generation patient support platforms and predictive analytics capabilities

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

• Leads through influence and expertise across matrix teams, driving alignment and outcomes without direct authority
• Builds and maintains strategic relationships with Marketing, Finance, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Compliance, and Commercial Excellence teams

About you

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience

• 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 5 years in patient support services and additional cross-functional experience
• Marketing and sales experience

Core Competencies

• Expert-level knowledge of Canadian healthcare systems, reimbursement frameworks, and regulatory requirements
• Advanced financial modeling, analysis, and strategic planning capabilities
• Proven track record in compliance program development and risk management
• Exceptional leadership skills with ability to influence and drive results in complex matrix organizations
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools, digital collaboration platforms, and project management software
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills for C-suite and board-level audiences
• Demonstrated experience in change management and organizational transformation
• Bilingual capabilities (English/French) strongly preferred

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis capabilities
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with CRM systems, patient support platforms, and digital health technologies
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in healthcare and patient support optimization

The salary range for this position is:

158,200.00 - 208,200.00 (Includes target bonus)
