Senior Manager, Patient Programs

Position Summary

The Senior Patient Program Manager is responsible for driving the strategic evolution and operational excellence of BMS Patients Support Programs (PSPs).  Reporting to the Patient and Health Systems Solutions Lead, the Patient Program Manager shapes strategy, designs innovative solutions and strives for enhanced patient access and patient journeys.  They serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external partners, collaborating closely with cross-functional brand teams, with the broader Market Access, Public Affairs, and Patient Programs team and with partners/vendors as the lead on select patient programs.  

The Patient Program Manager leads program strategy, manages program operations, oversees, vendor performance and leverages insights to inform program evolution.

The patient program manager works in full compliance with laws, regulations, business rules and BMS standards of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Direction

• Lead the planning and development of patient programs including implementation, continuous evolution and potential closure
• Identify opportunities to optimize our Patient Support Programs to enhance patient and health system stakeholder experience and journeys
• Implement digitalization, automation and new technologies to simplify the patient journey and augment program efficiency

Program operations and vendor management

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure seamless patient access, enrolment, and ongoing support
• Monitor program performance through KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics; identify risks and improvement opportunities
• Manage program financials, including forecasts, budgets, invoices, while ensuring alignment with contracts
• Oversee contracts, scopes of work, and change requests
• Manage performance reviews, escalations, and remediation plans with program suppliers
• Ongoing training of program provider staff to ensure execution of strategy.
• Develop and maintain program workflows and materials
• Support audit readiness, internal reviews, and external audits by maintaining accurate operational records and evidence

Experience:

• 5+ years relevant experience in managing patient support programs in pharmaceutical or related industry
• Vendor management experience
• University Degree in Life Sciences, Health-Related Field, or Business; Advanced degree (MBA) considered an asset

Le ou la chef(fe) principal(e), Programmes d’accès aux patients a pour mission de promouvoir l’évolution stratégique et l’excellence opérationnelle des programmes de soutien aux patient(e)s (PSP) de BMS. Relevant du responsable des solutions pour les patient(e)s et les systèmes de santé, le ou la chef(fe), Programmes d’accès aux patients définit la stratégie, conçoit des solutions novatrices et s’efforce d’améliorer l’accès pour les patient(e)s et leur parcours. Il ou elle agit à titre de principal point de contact entre les équipes internes et les partenaires externes, collaborant étroitement avec les équipes interfonctionnelles des marques, avec l’ensemble des équipes Accès au marché, Affaires publiques et Programmes d’accès aux patients, ainsi qu’avec les partenaires et les fournisseurs, en tant que responsable de certains programmes d’accès aux patient(e)s.

Le ou la chef(fe), Programmes d’accès aux patients dirige la stratégie du programme et gère ses opérations, supervise le rendement des fournisseurs et tire parti des renseignements pour éclairer l’évolution du programme.

Le ou la chef(fe), Programmes d’accès aux patients travaille en parfaite conformité avec les lois, la réglementation, les règles d’entreprise et les normes de conduite et d’éthique de BMS.

Les responsabilités comprennent, sans toutefois s’y limiter :

Orientation stratégique

• Diriger la planification et l’élaboration de programmes d’accès aux patient(e)s, y compris la mise en œuvre, l’évolution continue et la clôture éventuelle
• Cerner les occasions d’optimiser nos programmes de soutien aux patient(e)s afin d’améliorer l’expérience et le parcours des patient(e)s et des intervenant(e)s du système de santé
• Mettre en œuvre la numérisation, l’automatisation et les nouvelles technologies pour simplifier le parcours des patient(e)s et accroître l’efficacité du programme

Opérations du programme et gestion des fournisseurs

• Superviser les opérations quotidiennes pour assurer un accès, une inscription et un soutien continu harmonieux pour les patient(e)s
• Surveiller le rendement du programme au moyen d’indicateurs de rendement clés, de tableaux de bord et de paramètres opérationnels; déterminer les risques et les possibilités d’amélioration
• Gérer les aspects financiers du programme, y compris les prévisions, les budgets et les factures, tout en assurant la conformité aux contrats
• Superviser les contrats, la portée des travaux et les demandes de changement
• Gérer les évaluations du rendement, les transmissions hiérarchiques et les plans de correction avec les fournisseurs de programmes
• Fournir la formation continue au personnel des fournisseurs de programmes pour assurer l’exécution de la stratégie
• Développer et tenir à jour les flux de travail et le matériel du programme
• Appuyer la préparation à la vérification, les examens internes et les vérifications externes en tenant des dossiers opérationnels et des données probantes exacts

• Au moins 5 ans d’expérience pertinente dans la gestion de programmes de soutien aux patient(e)s dans le secteur pharmaceutique ou un secteur connexe
• Expérience en gestion de fournisseurs
• Diplôme universitaire en sciences de la vie, dans un domaine lié à la santé ou en administration des affaires; diplôme d’études supérieures (MBA) considéré comme un atout

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. The final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience and in accordance with pay equity principles and applicable employment laws.
