We are looking for a Senior Manager, Digital Marketing to join our team.
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing leads the digital marketing strategy for Lonza’s Specialized Modalities business platform, translating complex scientific value propositions into high-impact, data-driven digital experiences. The role requires strong expertise across the full digital marketing stack — from campaign and content management to performance analytics and marketing technology — and an ability to create targeted digital campaigns for biopharma, biotech, and life sciences audiences across the customer lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Strategy and Planning
Lead and execute the annual digital marketing plan for the Specialized Modalities (SPM) business, ensuring alignment with commercial priorities and pipeline goals.
Translate SPM value propositions into effective digital campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels.
Drive continuous optimization of SPM digital activity based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.
Leverage competitive intelligence and AI enabled tools to enhance digital content, analyze performance and audience behavior, and continuously optimize digital marketing effectiveness across channels.
Campaign Management and Demand Generation
Plan and deliver integrated digital campaigns supporting lead generation, nurturing, and ABM objectives.
Manage end-to-end campaign execution, from briefing and asset development through deployment and reporting.
Partner with CRM and marketing operations teams to ensure effective lead handoff and closed-loop reporting.
Lead email marketing programs, including segmentation, automation, testing, and optimization.
Own the digital marketing budget, ensuring spend is optimized against pipeline and commercial impact
Provide digital support for events and webinars, including social media, email and related digital promotional materials. Work with sales and event teams to ensure timely delivery of leads from related activities.
Content Development and Repurposing
Lead development of digital content assets (e.g., landing pages, emails, video, infographics, interactive tools), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and relevance.
Own content repurposing across channels, extending the lifecycle and ROI of scientific and long-form assets.
Website and Digital Experience
Own the Specialized Modalities digital experience on lonza.com, ensuring content is current, discoverable, and conversion -optimized.
Partner with web and UX teams on site enhancements, CRO, and accessibility compliance.
Contribute to and execute SEO/AEO/GEO strategy, including keyword research, on-page- optimization, and performance tracking.
Marketing Technology and Data
Use audience, behavioural, and performance data to continuously improve targeting, personalization, and ROI.
Identify and adopt emerging technologies, automation, and AI capabilities to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Performance Reporting
Serve as the primary digital marketing partner to Specialized Modalities platform leadership and commercial teams.
Deliver clear performance reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Ensure alignment with global marketing teams on brand positioning, messaging frameworks and campaign narratives.
Manage agencies, freelancers, and vendors to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
Track and optimize SPM digital execution performance, escalating insights, risks, and opportunities as needed.
Apply digital best practices, testing, and optimization approaches consistently across supported activities.
Contribute to the development of digital marketing capability across the organization.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital communications, life sciences, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in digital marketing.
Proven experience delivering integrated digital marketing programs with measurable business impact.
Strong proficiency across the core digital marketing disciplines: SEO/AEO/SEM, content marketing, email/marketing automation, web analytics, and campaign management.
Hands-on experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., Marketo or equivalent MAPs; Salesforce or equivalent CRM; Google Analytics 4).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate performance data into actionable insights.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to quality, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
Experience in B2B or complex technical environments, with the ability to understand and communicate scientific or technical topics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working cross-functionally.
Experience in life sciences, biopharma, biotech, or a CDMO/CRO environment.
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress ) and web analytics tooling (e.g. GA4, Looker, Tableau).
Working knowledge of CAN-SPAM, CCPA and GDPR compliant practices in B2B environments.
Experience managing or collaborating with external agencies.
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in marketing, digital, or life sciences.
Familiarity with marketing complex, consultative products or services with long sales cycles.
