About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and action-oriented Senior Manager, Cloud Platform Engineer to join our growing cloud platform team. Reporting directly to the Director and Global Head of Cloud Architecture and Operations, you will architect, design and implement various foundational building blocks as envisaged within Cloud Vision and Roadmap for 2026 and beyond. You will ensure our cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) are secure, scalable, reliable and cost-optimized. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity with an ownership mindset to drive tangible, measurable value for the organization.What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with leadership to execute the Cloud Vision for 2026 & beyond, bridging the gap between current state capabilities and a best-in-class target state cloud compliant with industry benchmarks & life sciences regulatory frameworks. You’ll also:
Conduct and contribute to Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) activities, acting as a technical bridge for other IT and business teams. Document & establish guiding principles, standards, & blueprints that are practical and enabling.
Contribute to architecture governance for new and existing workloads. Review business requirements and guide teams toward recommended, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures, considering alternatives and existing Insmed solutions.
Continuously evaluate Insmed’s cloud maturity against AWS / GCP best practices such as Well Architected Framework along with peer organization benchmarks, driving initiatives to close gaps.
Create Reference Architectures for most common and prioritized use cases that are compliant with AWS & GCP well architected framework.
Architect, develop and enforce strong DevSecOps & SRE practices. Author and Implement CI-CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and the automated provisioning of new GCP projects and AWS accounts and autoscaling of services within existing projects or accounts.
Collaborate deeply with Insmed Networking and Cybersecurity teams to design secure cloud networking topologies, create Terraform or CloudFormation templates to implement the target state networking architecture and enforce rigorous application and data security standards.
Work effectively with global stakeholders across various geographies, ensuring cloud solutions support international business needs and compliant with country specific regulations and data residency requirements.
Work closely and collaborate with external consulting partners (onsite and offshore), ensuring delivery quality and alignment with internal standards.
Who You Are:
You have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline as well as 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Platform Architect or an Engineer overseeing, managing and administering cloud platforms and infrastructure for large enterprise organizations.
You are or you have:
Expert-level architectural & engineering knowledge of AWS and / or GCP platforms, infrastructure, networking and security services and resources. Deep understanding of AWS and GCP Well Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework.
Experience in enabling a multi-cloud FinOps solution that can automatically deal with show back or chargeback of cloud consumption costs to various departments.
Strong proficiency in Cloud DevSecOps, CI-CD pipelines, and Infrastructure Automation with Python, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, etc. Experience with CI-CD pipeline managers such as Jenkins or Github Actions and with version controlling systems such as Bitbucket, Git, etc.
Good understanding of Cloud Networking (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Interconnects, Network Connectivity Center (NCC), Firewalls, Load Balancers, Service Control Policies or Organizational Policy Constraints, etc.) and Cloud Identity Management (IAM). Experience with architecture & implementation of cloud-hosted solutions & data services. Strong familiarity with applying Zero Trust Architecture principles within cloud platforms.
Strong knowledge and experience with architecture and implementation of Kubernetes clusters and container management with cloud native services.
Strong experience in enabling cloud logging and monitoring services and establishing a multi-cloud observability and alerting framework.
Strong experience with backup, semi-automated recovery, data retention policies and rules and archival of cloud hosted workloads with cloud native and third-party solutions such as Veeam Data Cloud, Rubrik, Commvault, Dhruva or other similar products
Strong knowledge & experience in establishing cloud hosted single region or multi-region high performance compute (HPC) clusters or VM clusters with vCPUs or GPU accelerators.
Deep experience in provisioning cloud infrastructure for training & inferencing needs of machine learning solutions in the fields of Predictive AI or Generative AI or Agentic AI.
Deep experience in architecting and implementing cloud foundations or landing zones and establishing a robust cloud resiliency framework.
Nice to have (but not required):
Prior experience in the Biopharma / Life Sciences industry.
Where You’ll Work
This is a hybrid role based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office. You’ll have the option to work remotely most of the time, with in-person collaboration 2 days a week.
