Job DescriptionGeneral Summary:<div><div>Vertex is seeking a talented leader to join our US Kidney Business Unit to support our aspirations of bringing Povetacicept and Inaxaplin, Phase 3 investigational therapies that have the potential to transform lives across multiple serious diseases, to patients.  </div><div>The Senior Director, Patient Support Lead will be key to creating the necessary processes, systems, infrastructure, and operations for the Patient Support organization within the US Kidney Business Unit. They will develop the launch strategy, define the appropriate patient support model, recruit and develop a high-performing patient support team and ensure execution of launch activities.  This role is a second line leader to PS Operations, Communications, Care Management and Field Reimbursement. We are seeking a candidate that has a strong track record in US patient support and operations roles, demonstrated success in leading high performing teams, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.  </div><div>This role is a key member of the US Kidney Business Unit leadership team and is based out of Boston, MA, HQ in the Seaport District. Must live and/or be able to relocate to Boston. </div><div>Key Responsibilities </div><div><ul><li>Sets strategic vision for Kidney Patient Support, including Patient Support Program design, budget management, annual and long term planning and cross-functional integration </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Leads Patient Support day-to-day operational aspects, including key activities & programs that drive performance against access, patient logistics, and service goals </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Drives launch readiness for both assets. </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Manages operations project portfolio with a focus on initiatives that drive operational effectiveness and enhance the patient experience </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Drive flawless execution of our operational plans, through ensuring the team is clear on priorities, effective cross functional partnerships, and thoughtful training & implementation plans </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Driving continuous improvement and innovation, always maintaining an external focus  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Hire, develop and coach functional team leads to achieve exceptional performance  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Retains, develops, and engages top talent  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Serve as a core member of the Patient Support Leadership Team, representing operations perspective and engaging “above” role to improve our effectiveness in the US, i.e. can think at a broader level than one’s own function </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Coordinates closely with cross functional colleagues, ensuring a culture of collaboration and receptivity to feedback </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Role models and instills a culture of compliance focused on ethics and integrity in all we do  </li></ul></div><div>Required Education and Experience </div><div><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>12 years+ work experience in healthcare/pharmaceuticals, 5 years in leading teams </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Additional preferred experiences:  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Specialty product launch experience </li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Work within highly competitive markets </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Nephrology experience </li></ul></div><div>Required Skills </div><div><ul><li>Expertise in patient support, patient education, market access, or marketing </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Track record of proven ability to motivate, coach & inspire a team towards clear goals and hold accountable for results </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Thrives on working in a fast paced, evolving environment with attention to detail, committed follow-through, an appropriate judgement in decision making </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Excellent communication skills: patient-centric and customer-service minded </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally as a team player </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Innovative mindset </li></ul></div><div> </div></div>Pay Range:$216,000 - $324,000Disclosure Statement:<div><div><div><div>The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
