Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Hemato-Oncology, Europe

The Senior Medical Director Hemato-Oncology, Medical Affairs, Europe is the internal key expert within the indication area(s), directly supporting the respective products through development, pre-marketing, launch, marketing support and lifecycle management. This includes all areas of medical affairs activities such as support of safe and appropriate product use, data-generation, data-dissemination and HCP interactions. Subject matter expertise is essential.

The role is part of a matrix organization, reporting to the Executive Director Medical Affairs Europe, but with collaboration with the European Medical Affairs group, other Regional/Country Medical Directors and regional medical
affairs functions as well as Global Medical Affairs and Global Clinical Development Functions. It requires close interaction with local (country) medical directors with respect to allocated disease area(s) (Hematological malignancies) to assure strategic dialogue considering local specifics and input as well as regional guidance.

The Medical Director Hematology has accountability for the regional input into the product and indication strategies and works closely with local country medical directors to assure alignment across global, regional and local strategies, messaging as well as tactical implementation.

Reports To: Executive Medical Director, Regional Medical Lead Hemato-Oncology, Medical Affairs, Europe

The role includes, but is not limited to:
• Matrix leadership in the disease area
• Proactive contribution to regional and global brand and disease area strategies

• Including gap analyses

• Identification of areas of interest with respect to ISR

• Publication planning

• Regional data-dissemination (e.g. company sponsored symposia, congress submissions, medical education activities)

• Regional HCP interactions / outreach (e.g. investigator meetings, advisory boards)

• Close collaboration with regional commercial teams regarding pre-launch, launch and commercialization support, assuring timely medical input and accuracy of medical / scientific content

As a subject matter expert for the assigned disease area, the incumbent will be accountable to develop regional strategies to support enduring and compliant relationships with Opinion Leaders, Research Collaborators, and Key
Organizations in support of BeOne’s pipeline development across the allocated disease area.
The incumbent will play a key role in the establishment of BeOne as a valued collaborator and best-in-class biopharmaceutical company.

Essential Functions of the job:
• Establish and maintain scientifically credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key national & regional
opinion leaders in addition to other healthcare providers
• Viewed as a Scientific Partner by KOLs
• Facilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts and serve as a regional-level point of contact with organizations including but not limited to -

• Guideline development

• Cooperative groups

• Other (Regional / National Cancer institutions)

• Facilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with other functional areas within BeOne
• Leadership in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant, and investigator meetings), as requested
• Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives.
• Support disease area Medical Affairs budget planning and management.
• Be accountable for compliant business practices.

Experience:
• MD, with relevant clinical / scientific experience in the indication field
• Minimum 10 years of experience and success within other biotech/pharmaceutical companies.
• Track record of experience (clinical and industry) in the field of Hemato-Oncology
• High level of communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, and cross functional collaboration skills.
• Flexibility to work with colleagues in a global setting.
• Able to engage in work-related travel approximately 50%.

Education Required:
Medical Doctor (MD) degree or PHD or equivalent medical qualification required with relevant clinical / scientific experience in the indication field as well as industry experience and managerial track record required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Initially, there will be no direct reports
• As the portfolio in the disease area expands regional medical resources will need to increase leading to supervisory responsibilities within the disease area

Computer Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experienced with electronic CRM systems

Other Qualifications:
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Other European languages are an advantage

Travel:
• A significant amount of travel is expected
• Participation at major congresses

Salary Range MD: 251,100.00 CHF - 313,900.00 CHF
