Job Description OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE We are seeking a strong Senior Analyst to join Takeda's GCC Commercial Insights & Analytics (I&A) organization in India. This role carries significant individual analytical ownership, bridging execution-level work with emerging stakeholder-facing responsibilities. The Senior Analyst is a critical analytical contributor who drives the quality and depth of insights delivered to global brand teams and begins to shape the analytical direction of assigned workstreams. Own and independently deliver a portfolio of mid-to-high complexity analytical workstreams that directly inform global brand strategy, performance management, and commercial execution across assigned brands and indications. Apply advanced proficiency across pharmaceutical commercial data sources — including patient-level claims, EMR, specialty pharmacy, and sales data across multiple markets — and analytics tools to generate decision-ready insights with clear business implications. Design and execute patient journey analyses, HCP segmentation models, performance deep-dives, and competitive assessments that provide actionable, evidence-based recommendations to global I&A brand leads and commercial partners. Serve as an emerging analytical thought leader within the GCC team — contributing to methodology development, analytical best practices, and the informal mentoring of Analyst colleagues. ACCOUNTABILITIES Brand Analytics and Insight Generation Own end-to-end delivery of assigned performance analytics workstreams, producing reports and dashboards that track brand KPIs — including patient shares, new starts, source of business, adherence, and HCP engagement — across global, regional, and country levels. Integrate and analyze diverse commercial data sources across markets — including real-world data (claims, EMR/EHR, lab data), specialty pharmacy data, sales data, and channel data — to generate comprehensive patient and HCP insights that support brand strategy and launch readiness. Develop and maintain business rules for processing raw patient-level data, leveraging a deep understanding of data nuances, commercial context, and market knowledge to ensure analytical accuracy and consistency. Conduct advanced, self-directed exploratory data analysis (EDA) and opportunity prospecting — moving beyond basic pulls (counts, topline, segmentation, time trends) to surface non-obvious commercial opportunities and hypotheses. Lead custom reporting and complex ad hoc analysis requests with independent hypothesis formulation, rigorous methodology, and well-documented, insight-rich outputs. Patient / HCP Cohort Development and Segmentation Build and maintain patient and HCP cohorts using standard business rules and deterministic logic, ensuring definitions are clinically sound, reproducible, and aligned with brand and indication requirements. Develop advanced cohort and segmentation approaches — including cluster and probabilistic models — to support more sophisticated patient/HCP targeting, prioritization, and micro-segmentation for global brand teams. Data Operation and Automation Perform basic ETL to acquire, clean, transform, and structure raw data from multiple sources into analysis-ready datasets. Develop and help orchestrate data pipelines that support recurring analytics and reporting, improving reliability, scalability, and reproducibility of team deliverables. Proactively identify and implement opportunities to automate and scale recurring reporting and analytical workflows, improving efficiency and reproducibility. Data Visualization and Reporting Excellence Design and maintain Tableau or Power BI dashboards and reporting tools that clearly communicate brand performance trends, patient funnel dynamics, and field force activity to global stakeholders. Establish KPIs and metrics — including patient shares, duration of therapy (DoT), adherence rates, source of business, and campaign effectiveness — and monitor their performance across global markets, regions, and channels. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication Partner with GCC Managers and global I&A brand leads to clarify analytical requirements, align on deliverable scope, and communicate progress proactively. Synthesize findings from multiple data sources into cohesive, decision-oriented analytical stories with clear “so what” implications and actionable recommendations tailored to global brand and commercial audiences. Provide informal mentoring and quality guidance to Analyst I and Analyst II colleagues, reviewing their outputs, explaining methodological choices, and supporting their professional development. Contribute to team knowledge management by documenting analytical methods, data source guides, and reusable query libraries. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's Degree required in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree or MBA in a relevant analytical or business field is strongly preferred. Experience: 4–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics or healthcare analytics, with demonstrated independent ownership of analytical deliverables. Deep working knowledge of pharma commercial datasets across markets: patient-level claims (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo Health, Symphony Health), specialty pharmacy, EMR, and sales data is required. Hands-on experience with data beyond claims is strongly preferred, including lab data, EMR/EHR, medical and regulatory coding systems (e.g., ICD, procedure/reimbursement codes), public datasets (e.g., government and financial), and research literature sources such as Citeline and PubMed. Proficiency in coding techniques such as SQL, SAS, R, or Python for data manipulation and workflow automation; advanced Excel skills required. Familiarity with API programming to acquire data via formal APIs, and with using GenAI tools (e.g., Claude Code) as a coding partner to accelerate analytical work. Strong experience with Tableau or Power BI for performance and brand analytics dashboard development. Working knowledge of Databricks or cloud-based analytics platforms. Experience supporting global or regional brand teams or cross-functional analytics programs is strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies: Advanced Commercial Data Analysis — Independently designs and executes complex analyses using multi-source, multi-market pharma commercial datasets; interprets results with strong domain context. Data Pulls & Exploration — Progresses from basic data pulls (counts, top-line, segmentation, time) to advanced, self-directed EDA and opportunity prospecting. Cohort Development & Segmentation — Builds deterministic, business-rule-based cohorts and advances toward probabilistic and cluster-model approaches for patient/HCP targeting. Data Operations — Performs basic ETL and develops/orchestrates pipelines to produce reproducible, analysis-ready data. Technical Proficiency — Advanced SQL; working Python/R; API programming for data acquisition; uses GenAI as a coding partner; growing fluency in Databricks or cloud platforms. Data Storytelling — Translates complex findings from multiple data sources into executive-ready narratives with explicit business implications and clear recommendations. Stakeholder Communication — Communicates analytical findings persuasively to global I&A leads and cross-functional partners; adapts framing to both technical and commercial audiences. Automation & Efficiency — Proactively identifies and implements workflow improvements using code, pipelines, or process redesign. Informal Mentorship — Provides practical guidance to junior analysts on analytical techniques, data interpretation, and quality standards. Problem-Solving — Frames ambiguous business questions into structured hypotheses; comfortable navigating complexity and data limitations. Intangible Skills: Curiosity — Naturally inquisitive; digs beneath surface results to understand the “why” behind the data. Confidence — Willing to take a point of view, defend analytical choices, and engage senior stakeholders. Reflective — Reviews own work critically, learns from feedback, and refines methods over time. High Risk Tolerance — Comfortable experimenting with new methods, tools, and approaches under ambiguity. Organized — Manages multiple workstreams, timelines, and documentation with discipline and structure. English Fluency — High command of written and spoken English for clear communication with global stakeholders. TAKEDA LEADERSHIP BEHAVIORS In alignment with Takeda's Values-Based Culture, this role requires demonstration of the following leadership behaviors: Act with Integrity — Deliver accurate, transparent work and take full responsibility for quality. Collaborate Cross-Functionally — Contribute positively to GCC and global team workflows and cross-functional collaboration. Drive Accountability — Take ownership of all assigned tasks and deliver on commitments. Embrace Learning — Continuously build analytical and domain capabilities through feedback and self-driven development.
