We leverage functional genomics, pooled perturbation screening, and machine learning models to unravel the biology of epigenetic aging and disease using experiments of unprecedented scale.</span></p> <h1>Position</h1> <p>NewLimit is seeking an scientist with experience in discovery biology to join our Vascular therapeutic team. Our Vascular program is developing reprogramming medicines to restore youthful function in aged endothelial cells for the treatment of renal, cardiometabolic, and cognitive diseases.</p> <p>Your role will focus on developing and deploying assays to measure the functional decline that occurs in endothelial cells with age. You will collaborate closely with our technology teams to help create the first reprogramming medicines for the vascular tissue that supports all others.</p> <h1>What you'll do</h1> <p>In your role as a Scientist, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop functional assays and pre-clinical models to measure endothelial cell function</li> <li>Collaborate with our Functional Genomics and Predictive Modeling teams to test reprogramming hypotheses at scale</li> <li>Measure the impact of mRNA reprogramming medicines on endothelial cell function</li> <li>Engineer <em>in vivo</em> nucleic acid delivery methods for endothelial cells</li> <li>Analyze and interpret experimental data to drive pre-clinical decision making</li> </ul> <h1>Requirements</h1> <ul> <li>Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field or equivalent industry experience (5+ years)</li> <li>Experience with primary cell isolation and functional characterization</li> <li>Experience working with mouse models (e.g. kidney, cardiovascular, or cognitive disease models)</li> <li>Experience with transgenic manipulation of primary cells either <em>ex vivo</em> <strong>or</strong> <em>in vivo</em> (e.g. using viral vectors, nucleic acid delivery)</li> </ul> <h1>Nice to have</h1> <ul> <li>History of contributing to a drug development program at the pre-clinical or clinical development stage</li> <li>Experience leading the design and execution of pre-clinical studies in mouse models</li> <li>Experience with single cell genomics methods</li> <li>Experience with pooled screening approaches using bulk or single cell read-outs (e.g. CRISPR fitness screens, Perturb/CROP-seq)</li> </ul> <h1>Benefits</h1> <p>NewLimit offers generous benefits to ensure our team can focus on our mission:</p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li> <li>401(k) with company match</li> <li>Paid parental leave</li> <li>Industry-leading paid time off (PTO) — 20 days/year for all employees + holidays</li> <li>Meals and snacks on-site</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Salary Range: $130,000 to $180,000. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
