This role offers you the opportunity to use your scientific expertise and consultative sales skills to grow BD Bioscience research reagents within the Biotech, Academic, CRO and Pharma industry.  Primary responsibilities include developing and crafting new business opportunities through promoting the reagent portfolio, working strategically with their local area team and specialist. The RRS will focus on new acquisition of customers and early account development.  They will convert competitive business in the assigned territory, with the intent of growing revenue while balancing reasonable margins. The RRS is directly responsible for achieving their territory sales growth.

Responsibilities:

• Meet weekly with customers, focusing on key accounts and large business opportunities.

• Develop and maintain distribution relationships by actively communicating, strategizing and shared working days in the field. 

• Develop Territory Business Plan to achieve sales goals.

• Managing incremental conversion opportunities from initial targeting through evaluation and implementation.

• Solving customer problems & creating value for our customers.

• Implementing marketing initiatives and national/regional contractual agreements.

• Takes ownership of sales funnel, providing up-to-date territory analyses and maintaining a robust and accurate forecast in Salesforce.com, including, but not limited to, entering contacts, and pricing/quotation requests

• Working with colleagues in instrument sales, technical applications, field service, science force, and global key accounts to provide unified, system solution to customers.

• Creative solution development

• Cultivate relationships with scientists, principal investigators, and lab managers to create partnerships that result in win-win solutions.

• Utilizing available sales support resources and tools in order to meet and exceed customer satisfaction as well as sales goals.

• Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work.

• Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.

• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Graduate level degree in science and/or business preferred)

• Life sciences-related experience.

• A valid driver's license.

• Ability to travel a minimum of 60% of the time.

Strongly Preferred:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and large account management skills

• 3 -5 years of life sciences-related experience preferred

• Ability to collaborate with peers and internal stakeholders to promote system selling of BD products.

• A demonstrated successful sales track record, solid negotiation skills, exhibit effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to pre-call plan to assess and respond to customer needs or relevant laboratory experience and aptitude for sales skills

• Or in lieu of sales skills experience, 3-5 years laboratory experience with a strong understanding of flow cytometry and research workflows

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SFDC.

• Preferred – Experience working with customers in drug development or translational research (e.g. contract research organizations, pharma/biotech, government research, immunology/cancer research centers, etc)

Salary ranges have been implemented to reward associates fairly and competitively, as well as to support recognition of associates’ progress, ranging from entry level to experts in their field, and talent mobility. There are many factors, such as location, that contribute to the range displayed. The salary offered to a successful candidate is based on experience, education, skills, and actual work location. Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles. $120,000 - $210,000 (range includes base salary and annual incentive bonus)
