About the Role:

We’re looking for a Regional Director, US Field Medical - West on the US Field Medical team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the National Sr Director, US Field Medical, you’ll be responsible for the direct personnel management of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team members in support of the execution of all Field Medical strategies, responsibilities, and initiatives across Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), Interstitial Lung Disease (PH-ILD), Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), and Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis (PPF)

What You'll Do:

In this role, you’ll have responsibility for the direct personnel management of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team members in support of the execution of all Field Medical strategies, responsibilities, and initiatives.  You will provide significant input into designing, developing and implementing medical strategy, specifically for the field medical team, and in contribution to the broader strategic medical imperatives for the company.   You will also collaborate and partner with peer Regional Director(s) to communicate learnings, best practices, and insights.  You’ll also:

• Have full accountability in direct personnel management of MSL team members and responsibilities that include leadership, performance management, recruiting, training, coaching and directing field medical activities and the achievement of results.  
• Provide coaching for MSL individual growth and development for improved satisfaction growth in role and achieve high standards of individual and team performance through an effective learning environment. 
• Lead, execute and deliver key results against Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Development and corporate projects and goals. Ensure alignment across functional goals.  Provide key insights and input to enhance medical strategy and key initiatives.  Effective leadership and sponsorship of key projects and workstreams. 
• Lead and execute the development of MSL goals, territory medical actions plans and achievement of field medical results. Effectively measure, monitor, and report progress against goals, projects and initiatives.  Effective coaching with outcomes of improved performance and results.  Deploy effective problem solving and solution development to leading Field Medical execution.  Provide MSL territory support during any vacancies or open positions, as directed by Field Medical leadership.
• Serves as a regional/local medical and scientific resource to Insmed for planning, clinical insights and intelligence. Capture, synthesize and deliver HCP derived scientific insights to Insmed. 
• Field therapeutic area expert demonstrating high scientific knowledge and competency of Insmed therapeutic areas, products and competitor data.
• Support research and development programs as requested by Insmed R&D, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs Departments
• Build strategic and productive working relationships with external HCPs, organizations, providers, and partners. Demonstrate strong market knowledge, customer knowledge and patient centricity. 
• Selection, hiring and training for open MSL positions resulting in high quality, diverse Field Medical team. Excel in cross-functional working relationships across all Insmed departments and functions
• Ensure the MSLs operate within all Insmed policies, SOPs, legal, compliance and regulatory guidance

Who You Are:

You have an advanced degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, PA, NP) along with 5+ years of experience in relevant clinical or therapeutic experience.

You are or you also have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as MSL and/or MSL leadership experience
• Experience leading field-based medicine or medical affairs projects and mentoring MSLs
• Effective presentation skills and advanced proficiency in interpersonal skills (listening, probing, persuasiveness, negotiation) are essential for engaging successfully and productively with HCPs, KOLs, external customers, field colleagues, and internal stakeholders
• Skilled in conflict resolution and problem solving
• Knowledge of the PhRMA code of conduct, the Sunshine Act, HIPAA regulations, Promotional Regulations, and all laws and regulations that are applicable to the role
• Up to 80% travel

Nice to Have (but not required):

• Other biotechnology role experience – Medical Information, Medical Strategy, and Clinical trial management (preferred)
• Personnel management experience, with demonstrated skill in coaching, leadership and personnel development, or relevant experience preferred

Where You’ll Work

This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected.

Pay Range:

$204,000.00-278,000.00 Annual
