A Day in the Life

As an R&D Program Manager in Pelvic Health operating unit, you will lead new product development programs that deliver life-changing therapies to patients worldwide. You’ll partner across engineering, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to market.

In this role, you will manage end-to-end program execution for new and existing products, ensuring alignment to timelines, budgets, and business objectives. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive decision-making, and proactively resolve challenges to keep programs on track.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manages one or more small-scale, developed or mature programs with well-defined program plans and delivery methodologies.

  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to manage one or more projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products and therapies.

  • Provides input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets.

  • Oversee and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, the development functional teams, and functional management.

  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to keep projects on track.

  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving

  • Communicate with stakeholders, obtain stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products will solve the business problems.

  • Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conducts briefings to higher level management team.

  • Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.

  • Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

Location: Rice Creek/Fridley, MN (Onsite)

Onsite Requirement: We bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness, and in-person collaboration is vital to how we work. As part of our commitment to innovation, we operate a minimum of 4 days a week onsite to accelerate problem-solving, build trust across teams, and elevate the capabilities of our program management community.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field with minimum 5 years of experience in engineering and/or program management, or

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field with minimum 3 years of experience in engineering and/or program management

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical device or regulated industry

  • Strong program/project management skills and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)

  • Knowledge of design controls, risk management (ISO 14971), and quality/regulatory standards (21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, EU MDR)

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and strategic execution

  • DRM Green Belt certification (preferred)

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
