As the Patient Advocacy Lead for Biogen Latin America North (LAN), you will play a key role in shaping and advancing patient advocacy strategy across priority markets. This role is designed for a high-potential professional ready to step into greater leadership responsibility by leading patient advocacy strategy and partnerships, rather than managing people.
You will build and sustain meaningful relationships with patient advocacy organizations, align advocacy initiatives with business and therapeutic priorities, and ensure patient perspectives are thoughtfully integrated into broader strategies. Working closely with community partners, internal stakeholders, and Business Units, you will help strengthen Biogen’s commitment to patient-centered innovation across LAN.
This role requires strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and communication skills, along with a passion for advocacy and collaboration. You will lead national, regional, and local advocacy efforts across multiple therapeutic areas, contributing to impactful outcomes for patients and caregivers throughout the region.
What You’ll Do
Identify and lead high-impact patient advocacy initiatives that enhance patient support and improve outcomes.
Develop and execute patient advocacy strategies and best practices for engagement with patients, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
Act as a key partner to Brand Teams and cross-functional stakeholders, integrating patient advocacy insights into broader strategic plans.
Build and maintain compliant, transparent relationships with patient organizations, ensuring alignment with company policies and ethical standards.
Lead planning and oversight of the patient advocacy budget, ensuring responsible use of resources and clear tracking of outcomes and impact.

Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient advocacy, market access, government relations, or related roles within healthcare or biopharmaceutical environments.
Demonstrated experience leading patient-focused initiatives or programs, with accountability for outcomes.
Solid understanding of healthcare systems and experience supporting strategies that improve patient access.
Preferred Skills
Experience collaborating cross-functionally within a matrixed or regional organization.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and apply patient insights and trends to strategy.
