<h2><span class="emphasis-3"><b>SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS)</b></span></h2><p>1.    Daily animal care activities to include: feeding, animal observations/identification of clinical concerns, and nail trimming<br />2.    Husbandry activities to include cage change/cleaning, use of power wash and chemical dispensing equipment, and general facility sanitization and support<br />3.    May perform milking of rabbits and standard support activities to meet production goals and adherence to established schedules<br />4.    Proper basic restraint of rabbits to facilitate general animal care, transfers, and sample collection<br />5.    Technical skills to include IP injections. May include IM, IV and SC injections.<br />6.    May perform animal identification applications to include ear tags, tattoos and RFID transponders<br />7.    May provide support for natural and artificial insemination breeding procedures (to include restraint), and kindling/weaning procedures<br />8.    Utilize computer and paper based systems to accurately document and/or record information to assure compliance with applicable regulations, and company policies<br />9.    Dependent upon skill level and support needs, may provide veterinary care and animal treatments as assigned<br />10.    Identify safety issues and initiate corrective actions to reach resolution<br />11.    Identify and communicate animal welfare concerns<br />12.    Exhibit a sound understanding of applicable animal care and use guidelines<br />13.    Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis</p><p></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">P<b>OSITION QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS}</b> </span></h2><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required, 0-3yr laboratory animal experience AS (in related discipline) 0-1yr laboratory animal experience BS (in related discipline) no previous experience required</li><li>AALAS certification at the ALAT level is preferred</li><li>Must be able to work in a team-oriented production environment with attentiveness to detail, accuracy and exhibit basic organizational skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and exhibit good interpersonal skills with team members</li><li>Exhibit basic working knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, internet)</li><li>Ability to push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 500 pounds</li><li>Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds</li><li>Duties require long periods of standing and/or sitting for an average of six hours a day</li><li>May be exposed to materials and chemicals that are potentially allergenic</li><li>Duties require actions that involve repetitive motion, to include that of hands and wrists</li></ul><p></p><p>The salary range for this role is $23 to $31 per hour.
