Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Neuroscience sales role to be based in the Washington, DC territory which includes: Bethesda, MD and Silver Springs, MD.

This posting may be considered for multiple levels within the same sales job family based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated capabilities. Final leveling and title will be determined based on assessment against the level-specific expectations.

Key Responsibilities 

• Engage healthcare professionals and stakeholders using customer-specific approaches aligned to practitioner priorities, institutional needs, and patient outcomes. 

• Develop expertise in the Neuroscience portfolio, including Caplyta and apply approved clinical and business knowledge to support customer engagement, territory priorities, and patient-focused outcomes. 

• Communicate approved clinical and scientific information using authorized materials and follow information-sharing policies. 

• Develop and execute strategic pre-call and account plans focusing on actions that drive business outcomes aligned to territory, district, regional and national goals reviewing progress regularly. 

• Identify, prioritize, and engage key stakeholders that influence business tailoring messages and resources specific to each role. 

• Optimize selling time and stakeholder access across accounts and care settings. 

• Analyze business and market data to identify opportunities, assess performance, and adjust execution strategies. 

• Apply knowledge of payer access, affordability, and reimbursement dynamics to support appropriate utilization. 

• Build trust-based relationships with customers and internal partners through clear communication, follow-through, and collaboration. 

• Conduct meaningful two-way clinical and scientific discussions that address customer needs, support informed decision-making, and build long-term trust. 

• Collaborate with internal partners to support coordinated customer engagement across face-to-face, virtual, and digital channels as available. 

• Collaborate with customers and internal partners to support patient-centered care, coordinated treatment planning, and appropriate therapy utilization and adherence. 

• Partner across functions creating a culture of shared accountability mindset to deliver a consistent customer experience and achieve business objectives. 

• Share field insights and observations to inform planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement. 

• Adhere to all Health Care Compliance policies and guidelines. 

• Use CRM and evolving, approved AI-enabled tools where available to strengthen prioritization, planning, and follow-through while maintaining privacy, data integrity, and policy alignment. 

  

Qualifications / Requirements 

Education: 

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required; MS/MBA/PhD preferred. 

Required: 

• A valid driver’s license issued in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States. 

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in healthcare sales, account management, customer-facing roles, business-to-business sales, or recently transitioned from Active-Duty Military 

• The ability to travel up to 50%, which may include overnight and weekend travel. 

• Must live in the geography and/or be willing to relocate to the geography. 

• Selling: Experience using a structured sales approach, adapting engagement based on customer needs, and confirming clear next steps to advance appropriate adoption. 

• Problem Solving: Experience identifying account obstacles, gathering key information, determining next steps, and escalating appropriately when needed. 

• Forming Partnerships: Experience building trust-based relationships with customers and internal partners through clear communication, follow-through, and collaboration. 

• Strategic Sales Planning: Experience creating and executing a territory or account plan by setting priorities, aligning activities to goals, and adjusting based on insights and results. 

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience partnering across internal teams by engaging the right stakeholders, sharing relevant information, and coordinating actions that improve the customer experience. 

• Data Savvy: Identifies key information and data as well as relationships between different pieces of information. Uses business-related data presented in graphs, tables, and reports to extract insights and develop data-driven solutions using appropriate analysis. 

Preferred: 

• Experience in the Neuroscience therapeutic area. 

• Experience working in complex accounts, institutional environments, or integrated delivery networks. 

• Experience navigating payer access, reimbursement, affordability, or other dynamics that impact appropriate utilization. 

• Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving sales goals in a competitive selling environment. 

• Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to support coordinated customer engagement. 

• Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and applying new tools over time. 

• Clinical Expertise: Experience communicating clinical and scientific information using approved materials, explaining evidence accurately, and tailoring messaging to customer priorities within guidelines.

The expected base pay ranges for these positions are: • Sales Specialist - $79,000 - $127,650 • Senior Sales Specialist - $98,000 - $157,550 Executive Sales Specialist - $111,000 - $178,250

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
