In this role you will be a key player within our R&D organization and will take an active part in shaping our future products and technical solutions.</p><p></p><p><b><span>Your Role in Mechanical Engineer</span></b></p><p></p><p><span>As a Mechanical Engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the development of our next-generation X-ray detectors — from requirements definition all the way to production handover and through to sustaining engineering. We are looking for an adaptive engineer who thrives at the center of complex cross‑functional programs, collaborating closely with electronics, systems, manufacturing, and product teams, and effectively balancing performance, cost, schedule, and manufacturability. This is a full-time role offered in a hybrid format, which means few days’ office presence.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Your role will include:</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of our X-ray detectors</span></li><li><span>Design manufacturing jigs & fixtures for in-house production teams</span></li><li><span>Create and maintain CAD models, detailed drawings and BOMs in Solidworks; manage mechanical documentation throughout release and ECO processes</span></li><li><span>Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware, system, manufacturing, product, and program management teams</span></li><li><span>Work closely with procurement team to identify, assess, and qualify suppliers</span></li><li><span>Support prototyping, pilot builds and testing; iterate designs based on feedback from testing, manufacturing and customers</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>What we are looking for:</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Around 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience with a track record of bringing products from concept to production.</span></li><li><span>Experience designing enclosures for electronics with high thermal loads, EMC considerations, and ingress protection requirements.</span></li><li><span>Understanding of thermal management techniques for electronics (convection, conduction, forced air, liquid cooling)</span></li><li><span>Proficiency in system‑level design and DFM/DFA.</span></li><li><span>Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate technical requirements and work across cross-functional teams, both onsite and remote is a must</span></li><li><span>Professional working proficiency in English </span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Experience in any of the following areas is not required but will be considered a strong advantage:</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Experience with thermal and/or CFD simulation</span></li><li><span>Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis of complex assemblies</span></li><li><span>Experience conducting V&V in regulated industries</span></li><li><span>Experience working within regulated development processes (ISO 13485) and designing for applicable safety standards (IEC 60601‑1, IEC 61010‑1)</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we offer:</b></p><p></p><p><span>Joining Varex Imaging’s photon counting team means stepping into a role where every innovation you contribute has real-world impact.
