Market Access Manager, Oncology (Lung, Heamatology and GI)

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of integrated market access strategies for the Lung, Haematology and GI portfolio in Thailand, enabling timely and sustainable patient access while delivering strategic and business value. The role is accountable for pricing, reimbursement, affordability solutions, evidence generation and payer engagement across pipeline, launch and in-market indications, in close partnership with cross-functional teams.This position will report to Market Access Lead (Oncology).
Accountabilities:
Pricing & Reimbursement
- Own integrated access strategies, priorities, milestones, risks and mitigation plans for Lung, Haematology and GI assets across pipeline, launch and in-market indications.
- Develop pricing and reimbursement strategies aligned with the brand value proposition, competitive landscape, patient needs, payer requirements and AstraZeneca governance.
- Lead access planning for relevant Thailand pathways, including NLEM, NHSO, CSMBS/OCPA, CGD, SSO, hospital formulary and procurement processes.
- Develop payer value propositions, reimbursement submissions, negotiation strategies and committee-engagement plans for priority products and indications.
- Assess environmental, policy and competitor developments; translate implications into proactive recommendations and clear mitigation actions.
- Model patient access, price, revenue, gross margin, affordability, budget impact and investment requirements under alternative access scenarios.
- Design and evaluate compliant managed-entry agreements, risk-sharing arrangements, portfolio agreements and other sustainable access solutions, including governance, operational feasibility and value realization.
- Lead access readiness from early asset planning through regulatory approval, launch, reimbursement and post-launch performance, including new indications and line extensions.
- Serve as the Market Access lead in brand and cross-functional teams, aligning Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Finance, Legal, Compliance and regional/global partners.
- Monitor access milestones, patient reach, timelines, risks and business impact, and communicate decisions required to leadership.
- Drives product pricing analysis and recommendation by analyzing competitive products and pricing, ensuring alignment with brand value proposition, understanding customer groups (patients and physicians) and leading Pricing Strategy discussions
- Monitors environment and practices for shifts in trends or behaviours, interprets likely impact and suggests appropriate actions
- Develops deep understanding of competitive market conditions that affect pricing for individual brands and overall industry
- Evaluates changing marketplace and proactively makes recommendations on pricing strategies as related to managed care, reimbursement environment, federal and state regulations
- Provides modelling of pricing recommendations and financial impacts for new and existing products
- Develops pricing and reimbursement strategy (including pricing bands, launch order, etc.) for existing and launch products, and maintaining over time
- Determines contracting/net price strategy including risk sharing arrangements, discounting, etc
- Develops and executes reimbursement support and patient assistance services to ensure patient access to products
- Leads the exploration for, and evaluation of, a pipeline of potential pricing and contracting strategies and their integration into AZ business
- Reviews contracting opportunities for risk and compliance, from a financial and legal perspective.
- Encourages exploration of leading edge & novel marketing approaches that provide enhanced competitiveness to current and future AZ brands
Patient access and affordability
- Creates “Patient Assistance Program” / tiered pricing models, comes up with business cases and gains approval from area
Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR)
- Generates evidence, including value story and value dossier development
- Performs / Analyses health technology assessment
Analytics & Real World Evidence Support
- Works closely and support Medical Department in analysing clinical data prospectively and retrospectively post launch to generate “real world evidence” and value for money
External stakeholder engagement
- Build relationship/partnership with payers i.e. CGD, NHSO, SSO
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience in market access and reimbursement, preferably within the oncology pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in market access strategy, pricing, reimbursement, health economics, real-world evidence, and payer engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative business and market access strategies that support business objectives.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including brand planning, market access, medical, regulatory, and commercial functions.
- Experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, including government and political authorities, payers, healthcare professionals, professional associations, and patient advocacy groups.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand business priorities and payer needs.
- Proven ability to lead strategic projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority in a complex, cross-functional, and matrix environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer orientation, collaboration, networking, and partnering skills, with the ability to work effectively across national, regional, and local teams.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with strong organizational and project management skills.

- Established relationships with relevant external stakeholders.
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Experience across multiple industries or markets.
- Thorough understanding of the AstraZeneca business model, brand team operations, brand planning, and sales model.
