Manager – Flexible Resource Strategy will be primarily responsible for applying flexible resourcing and vendor management strategies for assigned Clinical Development and Operations (CD&O) functions, and other R&D functions as needed.
You will manage sourcing and contracting efforts for assigned Functions/Departments. This will include reaffirming overarching flexible resourcing strategies and vendor management framework, providing situational contracting consultation and guidance, as required, and collaborating with other BVSM Functions, Procurement, Finance, Legal when appropriate.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Partner with internal customers to identify and evaluate available sourcing and resourcing options to support decision-making relative resourcing needs at a global and local level.
May be required to prepare a Request for Information and initiate investigation for alternative vendor solutions, in the absence of an established sourcing strategy.
Independently prepare commercial terms & conditions, execute medium complexity contracts including conducting final review to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as coordinating and obtaining all necessary signatures of assigned non-MSA agreements across BVSM-assigned groups.
Work on most/all assignments using knowledge and work experience in contracting to achieve desired results at a high rate of accomplishment.
Liaise frequently with stakeholders to ensure they understand and have realistic expectations of sourcing and contracting process and systems.
Partner with internal customers to identify and evaluate available sourcing and contracting options to support decision-making relative to service/resourcing need, at a global and local level.
Directly negotiate proposed changes to standard contract language within guidelines provided by the Legal Division; escalate requested changes that fall outside of guidelines to the Legal Division and other stakeholders, as required.
Participate in special projects and/or initiatives to help achieve business objectives. Ensures compliance with BVSM Compliance & Business requirements.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA or BS degree
4+ years of Sponsor experience, CRO operational and/or proposal development/contract management experience, or other related experience, including experience negotiating and drafting vendor agreements.
General knowledge of all phases of drug development (pre-clinical, phase I-IV, post-marketing/approval activities), including clinical trial and related function/service area costing.
Finance/Clinical Budgeting Experience including
Demonstrate clear understanding of various contracting and budget models
Experience applying Enterprise-level contracting and outsourcing strategies
Strong oral/written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word/Powerpoint/Excel/Copilot)
Experience with Ariba Contract Workbench, SalesForce, and / or other industry cost benchmarking or contract/budget management tools is desired.
Internal and external influencing skills for expectation and timeline management
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
