Catalent’s Baltimore/Harmans, MD (BWI) site is a leading facility supporting gene therapy development and manufacturing, with capabilities spanning early development through clinical and commercial production. The site works with a range of biotech and pharmaceutical partners across advanced biologics, including viral vectors and complex therapies. With modern technologies and a collaborative, cross-functional environment, it offers opportunities across scientific, operational, and business teams within a growing area of the industry.
The Manager, Commercial Operations is responsible for leading the transition of client programs following contract execution, serving as the primary business contact for assigned portfolios and driving cross-functional alignment to ensure efficient delivery and a seamless client experience.

The Role:
Act as a subject matter expert on segment offerings, capabilities, and business processes, providing guidance across internal teams
Partner with Program Management to support client relationships and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to address critical client needs and drive aligned execution
Analyze market trends, client needs, and portfolio gaps to inform commercial strategy and identify new opportunities
Support business development strategy through input on targeting, account planning, pricing, and participation in S&OP and demand planning processes
Other duties as assigned
The Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or medical device environments (e.g., manufacturing, quality, project management, business development, or commercial operations)
Working knowledge of biologics, including cell and gene therapy, fermentation, cell culture, purification, fill/finish, and analytical services preferred
Strong analytical and business acumen, with the ability to interpret data and inform decision-making
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and cross-functional stakeholders, including presenting complex information to leadership
Highly self-directed, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $145,000 – $165,000 plus an annual bonus target. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
