<p>Opportunity awaits those up to the challenge of developing transformative therapies across a broad range of debilitating diseases. </p><p><b>Summary:</b></p>Apellis is a biotechnology company advancing therapies that target the complement system, with a strong focus on retinal disease. In ANZ, we are preparing to launch the first ever treatment for Geographic Atrophy (GA), a major cause of blindness.<br><br><br>To drive adoption and commercial success of GA treatment across South Australia & Western Australia by engaging key ophthalmology stakeholders, supporting disease education, and executing territory plans aligned with brand strategy.<p></p><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Build strong relationships with retinal specialists, ophthalmologists, orthoptists and nurses.</li><li>Implement territory plans and promotional activities to meet/exceed commercial targets.</li><li>Maintain strong disease and product knowledge and communicate clinical information effectively using approved materials.</li><li>Manage territory budgets, CRM updates (Veeva) and ensure full compliance with internal and industry standards.</li><li>Support KOL development and collaborate with Medical Affairs on meetings and educational events.</li><li>Work collaboratively with Marketing, Medical and cross‑functional teams.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Essential skills, experience and abilities</b></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or Specialist Representative.</li><li>Strong capability to understand and communicate clinical/scientific information.</li><li>Solid account management skills and stakeholder engagement experience.</li><li>Tertiary qualifications in Science, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, Marketing or Education.</li><li>Medicines Australia CEP.</li><li>Current driver’s license and ability to travel.</li><li>Exhibits excellent time management and planning.</li><li>Proactive mindset with the ability to shape internal processes and contribute beyond the core job scope when opportunities arise.</li><li>Must be pro-active team player, flexible, and able to work in a dynamic environment.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Desirable skills and experience</b></p><ul><li>Launch experience (ideally within Ophthalmology, though not essential).</li><li>Experience or familiarity with the eye care sector.</li><li>Key account planning or project management proficiency.</li><li>Postgraduate qualifications in optometry/ophthalmology/vision science.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Travel Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Office is home based</li><li>Interstate travel is required</li><li>Required to travel to HCP meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings (will require some weekends)<br /> </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Work Arrangement:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Travel Requirements:</b></p>Is able to travel interstate as required.<br><p></p><p><b>Education:</b></p>Bachelor's Degree <p></p><p><b><span style="font-size:14px">Benefits and Perks:</span></b><span style="font-size:14px"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-size:14px">Apellis offers a comprehensive benefits package, inclusive flexible time off, summer and winter shutdowns, paid family leave and more!</span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px"><br /></span><b><span style="font-size:14px">Company Background:</span></b><span style="font-size:14px"><br /><br />Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a global biopharmaceutical company leading the way in complement science to develop life-changing therapies for some of the most challenging diseases patients face.
