We are driven by Our Credo and united in our mission to discover new ways to predict, intercept and treat disease, bringing more health and hope to people worldwide.</p><p></p><p>The <b>Strategic Partnerships and Resource Group</b> (SPRG) drives Public-Private Partnership projects (PPP), which includes competitive tender Grants, where governmental agency or non-governmental funding or in-kind contributions are considered by the R&amp;D organization. Critically, SPRG ensures consistency and compliance in contracts and grants across the organization for the benefit of J&amp;J and its external partners. SPRG supports different R&amp;D teams across J&amp;J during the evaluation, ensuring the external resource is an appropriate strategic fit to our R&amp;D priorities and that all risks, terms and conditions are evaluated before any engagement is made. In addition, SPRG takes ownership to support the projects End-To-End, from idea generation, submission, and execution to close-out and auditing.</p><p><b> </b></p><p><b>Context</b></p><p>Following the sectorization of the new J&amp;J, the Strategic Partnerships and Resource Group has been re-positioned to better align with the two sectors, pivot capabilities towards future areas of R&amp;D across the IM and Med Tech sectors. <span style="color:#000000">There is also a need to build additional forward-looking capabilities which can help shape those future funding calls most relevant to the J&amp;J R&amp;D strategy as well as be agile in engaging with new life science associations.</span></p><p></p><p>To drive efficiencies and risk management capabilities we are seeking a <b>Sr. Manager – EU Risk Management</b>. They will be an individual contributor and a developing subject matter expert who works independently with some supervision. Moreover, they will have the vision and strategic mindset with a clear objective to maintain a structural operational framework to oversee risk management support for the SPRG Front Office, focusing on EMEA and EU/or National funding in Public-Private Partnerships and Grants.</p><p></p><p>The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, global team steeped in a culture of collaboration, problem solving, risk assessment and compliance.</p><p> </p><p><b>Position Summary</b></p><p>Reporting to the Director, EU Risk Management<b>, </b>the Sr. Manager – EU Risk Management serves as the primary liaison for Focus Area Leaders, Grant Experts, and business partners, managing first-line risk evaluations, conflict resolution, and issue management, while also collaborating with corporate functions such as Legal, IP and Compliance.</p><p></p><p>As such the role involves reviewing scientific project proposals, multi-party agreements, templates and identifying potential risks with EU and EMEA National grant types, liaising with external legal consultants, training staff on grant rules, and advising on issue resolution and corrective actions often in close partnership with Legal and IP attorneys and Compliance officers.</p><p></p><p>The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in legal education, contracting, a passion for critical thinking and problem-solving, and a keen interest in European and national funding mechanisms, as well as Public-Private partnerships.</p><p> </p><p><i><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></i></p><ul><li><p>Support risk assessment and mitigation strategies for EU-funded projects, including Horizon Europe and the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) and local nationally funded projects.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legal/IP and EU regulatory frameworks.</p></li><li><p>Analyse &amp; review complex multi-party agreements, funding agreements and other documentation to identify potential risks and propose solutions.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the development and implementation of internal risk management processes and tools.</p></li><li><p>Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Monitor evolving EU and national funding landscapes and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.</p></li><li><p>Integrates Johnson &amp; Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><i><b>Requirements:</b></i></p><ul><li><p>Master’s degree in law (is required). Admission to a bar is not required.</p></li><li><p>Additional degree in sciences (or Pharmaceuticals) is a plus.</p></li><li><p>A minimum of 5&#43; years of working experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Devices Industry is required.  </p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of European and National Funding public-private partnership legal/IP &amp; compliance frameworks (especially Horizon Europe and the Innovative Health Initiative etc.).</p></li><li><p>Able to manage a large volume of complex or strategic collaboration projects for various J&amp;J business partners, including transactional work, multi-party consortium negotiation and issue handling.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills with solid experience in interacting with senior leadership.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong presentation and influencing skills.
