We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our Oncology team in Bulgaria. The role is based in Plovdiv and covers the Bulgaria South territory, reporting to the Disease Area Lead Bulgaria.

 

As a Key Account Manager, you will play an important role in shaping how AstraZeneca partners with the healthcare system across your territory. You will be responsible for building strong, credible relationships with key customers and opinion leaders in priority accounts, and for promoting our oncology portfolio to achieve the budgeted sales figures. This is a highly collaborative role that combines account management, scientific dialogue, cross-functional teamwork, and territory execution.

 

This role is well suited to someone who is energised by working in a complex healthcare environment, can navigate multiple stakeholders with confidence, and is motivated by making a meaningful difference for cancer patients in Bulgaria.

 

What you will do

In this role, you will own the commercial performance of your territory, building a business plan that identifies where the greatest opportunities sit and translating it into clear actions and goals together with your Line Manager. You will develop strong key account plans for priority accounts, grounded in a deep understanding of the clinical pathway, leakage points, and what matters to each customer.

You will build and maintain trusted professional relationships with healthcare professionals and opinion leaders in key positions, always within the relevant ethical regulations. Alongside this, you will work closely with colleagues across Commercial, Brand, and Medical, sharing insight on clients and competitors so that field execution stays aligned with broader brand and business priorities.

 

More specifically, you will:

• Set up a territorial business plan that identifies key opportunities for the promoted products and details the actions to take and the goals to be reached, based on the instructions and recommendations of the Line Manager
• Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and provide them with information on company products
• Build strong key account plans for priority accounts, underpinned by a deep understanding of the clinical pathway, leakage points, and customer needs and beliefs
• Develop and maintain maximum territory coverage
• Manage the territorial budget within the required limitations and ensure that all activities observe the relevant ethical regulations in force
• Organise local seminars and group meetings presenting therapy, treatment trends, and products
• Provide timely feedback and information to the Line Manager on clients and competitors
• Attend team sessions and share best practice across the team
• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Lead, Brand Managers, fellow Key Account Managers, Medical Advisor, and MSL colleagues
• Work in full compliance with AstraZeneca's Code of Conduct, global and local policies and standards, Bulgarian legislation, and the Ethical Code of ARPharm in Bulgaria

 

What you bring

• A university degree, preferably in medicine, pharmacy, or a life science field
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid working knowledge of the sector
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage healthcare professionals in a credible and professional manner
• A high level of personal drive, initiative, ambition, and accountability
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a territory effectively
• The ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
• A strong customer and patient focus
• Analytical skills to interpret sales data and market information
• A good command of English, written and spoken
• Confident use of standard IT and digital tools
