Intern, Global Safety Epidemiology, Infectious Rare Disease

The Role

This is a full-time summer internship based in Cambridge, MA from June 7, 2027 – August 20, 2027. Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the program.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD/ScD student to join our Global Safety Epidemiology program, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world epidemiologic research, safety monitoring, signal evaluation, and integrated evidence planning in a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

 

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Gain exposure to the role of Epidemiology in pharmacovigilance across the development lifecycle. 

• Conduct epidemiologic research to contextualize and evaluate safety signals, important potential risks, and special populations relevant to safety monitoring (e.g., pregnant women) 

• Contribute to evidence generation and synthesis for vaccine safety monitoring in key global markets outside the US. 

• Engage with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance, Real-World Evidence Analytics, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, and Clinical Development. 

• Contribute to cross functional signal detection, validation, and evaluation workflows. 

• Lead and present findings from an epidemiologic project addressing a topic relevant to safety monitoring (e.g., characterizing incidence of one or more safety topics of interest). 

 

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• Currently enrolled in a PhD or ScD program in Epidemiology or a closely related discipline.
• Strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics
• Experience with SAS or R

The salary range for this role is $20.00 - $60.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
