We are seeking an experienced Head of Global Quality Systems to provide strong strategic leadership, oversight, and QMS ownership within Global Quality Management. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Quality, this role can be based in either Denmark or Switzerland and requires up to approximately 20% travel within Europe.

The role
As Head of Global Quality Systems at Bavarian Nordic, you will lead the strategy, governance, and continuous development of the Global Quality Management System (QMS) across all sites and functions. You will ensure sustainable compliance with global GxP requirements while driving operational excellence, inspection readiness, and a strong quality culture.

You will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, overseeing the harmonization, standardization, and evolution of Bavarian Nordics global quality systems (Veeva) in alignment with business growth and digital transformation initiatives. This includes ownership of core quality processes such as Deviations, CAPAs, Change Control, document management, data integrity, risk management, and management review.

Leading a global team of one Senior Manager and 10+ QA Specialists, you will foster a high-performing, collaborative, and quality-focused environment. In close partnership with the global operations management and QA Site Heads, you will drive global alignment and scalable, efficient quality processes across the organization.

You will also play a central role in advancing Bavarian Nordic’s digital and ERP transformation, ensuring that quality systems support data integrity, automation, and future ways of working.

Additionally, you will:
 

• Drive the global QMS strategy and roadmap, strengthening quality maturity and operational excellence

• Ensure ongoing inspection readiness and lead interactions with regulatory authorities

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance quality culture, performance, and continuous improvement

• Establish and track KPIs and quality metrics to enable data-driven decision-making

• Promote digitalization and innovation within Quality Systems to improve efficiency and user experience

• Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing global team, fostering accountability and capability building

What you bring

We are looking for an experienced and visionary global quality leader with a strong track record in developing, harmonizing, and leading Quality Management Systems within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or vaccine manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience operating in complex, highly regulated international environments and has successfully led global quality transformation and compliance initiatives across multiple sites and functions.

You can combine strategic thinking with operational execution and can drive organizational alignment, quality culture, and continuous improvement. You are recognized as a collaborative and influential leader who can effectively partner with senior stakeholders while building high-performing teams and sustainable global quality processes. Given our global environment, fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
