Position Summary
The role of the GSC Strategy Lead is to develop and maintain comprehensive product lifecycle strategies for the end-to-end supply chain that aligns short- & long-term strategic goals (commercial sourcing, growth, risk mitigation, cost) across GSK’s Global Supply Chain (GSC).
Reporting into the GSC Strategy Senior Director, the GSC Strategy Lead develops strategies for individual brands or networks, effectively managing risk, cost and other challenges. The position is accountable for new business cases, where you will make evidence-based recommendations up to the most senior levels at GSK (to the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team), where you will provide technical expertise and comprehensive knowledge (of the brand strategy) in order to influence and guide key stakeholders.
In delivering your role you will need to have strong business-case and financial acumen, as well as a holistic knowledge of the supply chain. You will routinely identify, work alongside, and manage internal stakeholders (up to GSC, R&D and Commercial Leadership Team level) and so exceptional matrix-view cross-functional senior stakeholder management skills are a pre-requisite for the role.
You will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of both the industry (Pharma, Vaccines) as well as strengths in technical understanding (Biopharms, Sterile Manufacture, Devices, External Manufacturing) and strategic decision making (commercial / R&D insights, scenario planning, business case development, financials, SC risk assessment).
Working with Global Commercial and R&D teams to understand and challenge the aims for your brands – recognizing key risks, issues & sensitivities, and then translate this into a Global Supply Chain (GSC) strategy for the product across the 0 – 10 year timeframe.
Oversee key functional relationships and deliver deep dives and site impact assessments. Chairs the Product Strategy LT for specific brands.
Be accountable for the Product Strategy Document and manages delivery at a brand level to ensure that stakeholders can measure performance.
Review 10-year annual long-range forecasts (sales and volume) for specific brands and makes proposals relating to investment and capacity.
Set and communicate the strategic objectives for a brand or nodal network strategy.
Hold others to account and takes corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of short-medium term objectives.
Provide strategic, functional input related to network, capacity and cost etc to support the review of relevant business development initiatives
Relevant degree (eg; Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Finance / Technical / Engineering) or strong relevant supply-chain experience (eg; end-to-End Supply Chain design experience).
Demonstrable experience in a senior supply chain role (ideally with new product development and commercialisation activities) obtained from working in a highly-regulated environment.
Proven experience interfacing and influencing senior global Leadership team stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to deal with complexity involving Commercial, R&D and Supply Chain (recognizing key risks, issues & sensitivities to develop thought through scenarios)
Problem solving abilities suitable for handling complex issues across technical, quality, regulatory and operational areas.
Proven experience interfacing and influencing senior global Leadership team stakeholders.
Demonstrated commercial awareness and experience.
Understanding of financial modelling, business case elements that support decision making
Understanding of supply chain processes, regulatory constraints, planning and logistics, trade routes and GSK trading arrangements.
Ability to act effectively in a complex matrix environment across multiple teams and geographies.
Understanding of risk management and compliance

This role is based in the United Kingdom (GSK HQ, London) or Wavre, Belgium and offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site and remote work.
