FP&A Senior Analyst - Clinical Operations (hybrid)

<p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description</b></p><p><b>General Summary:</b></p><p>The Senior Analyst is a member of Vertex&#39;s Financial Planning &amp; Analysis team largely supporting GCO finance and assigned clinical trials in select disease areas. The senior analyst will provide financial analyses including identification of key value drivers and proactive identification of risks and opportunities. Helps functions achieve their short- and long-term goals through proactive day-to-day decision support. The role ensures relevant functional activities are reflected in company budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning. The role will build analytics and models to aid functional management in decision-making.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Conduct the financial performance management process for assigned clinical trials (i.e., objective setting, tracking budget versus actuals, etc.), including the monthly forecast process, with a focus on supporting business operations and decisions through an understanding of the key drivers of short-term performance and communicating the range of possible outcomes</li><li>Support the financial planning process (e.g., budget, forecast, long range plan) for assigned functions to provide relevant, forward-looking observations, develop key scenarios, and identify key risks/uncertainties and plans for potential mitigation</li><li>Participate in the monthly / quarterly accounting close for expenses and accruals, including compliance with SOX control requirements</li><li>May support various projects within the Finance organization</li><li>Support business case-based decision-making for investments</li><li>Work closely with other members of the Finance organization to maintain a continuous improvement mindset and promote strong communication and efficient processes</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Knowledge and Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry</li><li>Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint</li><li>Knowledge of Hyperion</li><li>Solid business acumen and judgment, and knowledge of the company&#39;s markets/products and industry trends</li><li>Developed communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance principles, financial modeling and valuations with strong financial analysis, interpretation skills</li><li>Ability to work independently under general guidance, take initiative and complete tasks to deadlines</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education and Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s Degree in Finance or Accounting</li><li>Typically requires 2-4 years of relevant financial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience</li></ul><p>#LI-Hybrid</p><p>#LI-MF1</p><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Pay Range:</b></p>$89,600 - $134,400<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Disclosure Statement:</b></p><div><div><div><div><p style="text-align:left">The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting.
