DESCRIPTION:

As a Field Service Engineer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment while providing exceptional customer service. This position offers opportunities to work with advanced technology while contributing to scientific advancement and innovation.

The main focus of the role is Installation, Preventive Maintenance, and Instrument

Qualification of Chromatography Equipment products within the territory listed above.

What will you do:

• Collaborate with colleagues in our customer care center to efficiently schedule

your service visits to meet and exceed customer expectations.

• Represent our company in a positive, professional manner in all dealing with

Thermo Fisher Scientific customers, both external and internal.

• Install our products from our diverse Liquid Chromatography

systems portfolio, demonstrate instrument specification and

instruct customers on use and maintenance.

• Perform preventive maintenance and qualifications on customer instruments

and help to improve instrument uptime and availability.

• Assure responsive telephone support and diagnostic as well as on-site Services to

exceed the customers expectation and making them successful.

• Detailed preparation and documentation of maintenance and qualification

activities to meet regulatory requirements.

• Always ensure the highest professional relationship with our customer base to

achieve customer loyalty and raise issues if necessary, to solve critical tasks in

the fastest way possible. Follow our ethical business conduct guidance.

• Optimize your own work schedule by coordinating with all the necessary

partners for service planning/scheduling

• Partner with our commercial colleagues to deliver customer deals that can be

implemented profitably and meet/exceed customer expectations

• Help on continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement

Business System

REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced Degree (bachelor/masters), no prior experience required, hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing complex analytical instruments is a plus.

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Electronics, Engineering, Physics or related technical field

  • Willingness to travel daily within the BeNeLux region. For training or special calls, international traveling including all EMEA Territory and the US is required.

• Additional relevant certifications are advantageous

• Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various laboratory environments

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently

• Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards

  • Dutch and English required knowledge of French is a plus
