Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied
· Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices
· Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required
· Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers
· Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers
· Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions
· Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements
· Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process
· Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
· Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be able to competently perform all level 2 duties.
· Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints
· Strong grinding knowledge.
· Advanced skills in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding.
· Strong experience with machined part fabrication.
· Ability to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.
· Communication skills
· Interpersonal skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
· Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
· Ability to obtain and operate mobile equipment needed to perform essential functions
