ABOUT THE ROLE

The Engineering Project Director (Level 7a) serves as the AIN-based leader and a key member of the Project Controls network reporting to Global Project Controls leadership responsible for building and scaling future-state capital project capabilities aligned with workforce strategy. This role leads a centralized, analytics-driven delivery model across core functional pillars including project and portfolio cost management, Source-to-Pay, and capital equipment analytics to deliver standardized, high-quality project delivery scalable services.

As a strategic leader in the organization, this role will operate as a liaison within multiple functions across Engineering globally. The role ensures seamless integration of AIN capabilities into the global execution model accountable for project delivery performance, ensuring accurate, timely, compliant, and proactive data-driven output through advanced analytics, digital tools, and reporting. It drives productivity, cycle time reduction, and continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, and data standardization into project controls delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership Capability Center

  • Experience leading and aligning with global teams across project lifecycle from front end planning through closeout and asset implementation.
  • Oversee high performing teams advancing the vision of project controls.

  • Pioneer innovation enabling execution excellence aligned with organization.
  • Advance standardization across regions and sites enabling business solutions.

  • Serve as accountable leader for India Project Controls accountable for stand-up of capability center through execution and operations.

Global Cultural Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

Leadership Advancing Digital Solutions and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the AIN Project Controls organization delivering cost management, source-to-pay, and analytics services across global capital projects.
  • Standardization and scale project controls processes, tools, and data structures to enable consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Drive productivity and reduce cycle times across cost management, reporting, and transactional workflows (POs, invoicing)
  • Implement and embed digital solutions (e.g., Power BI, automation, risk analytics) to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain a robust data and master data environment to support accurate, integrated project controls delivery.
  • Improve cost visibility, forecast predictability, and confidence through structured analytics and reporting.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team across Cost Management, Project Coordination, and Equipment Analytics, alignment with timelines while driving adoption of AIN services globally.

GOOD TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
  • Experience supporting capital projects within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong experience with project controls systems and digital tools, including SAP, Power BI, and data analytics platforms.
  • Experience working on large/mega capital projects with global delivery models.
  • Deep understanding of cost management, source-to-pay processes, and project controls data structures.
  • Experience implementing digital solutions, automation, and advanced analytics (e.g., dashboards, data models, risk analysis)
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI/ML applications in project controls or analytics.
  • Proven ability to drive standardization, process improvement, and adoption of centralized service models.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across global engineering, finance, and project teams.
