The Director, HIV Treatment Portfolio Integrated Marketing and Media Orchestration' is responsible for translating HIV Treatment portfolio strategy into coordinated, customer-centered activation across brands, audiences, and channels. The role leads integrated media planning and orchestration across the portfolio, aligning brand teams, agencies, and cross-functional partners around shared business priorities while maintaining clear brand-level ownership.

The role identifies portfolio opportunities, establishes business requirements and investment priorities, manages cross-brand dependencies and tradeoffs, and is accountable for driving portfolio adoption and measurable business outcomes. The Director partners closely with Digital Operations to leverage enterprise capabilities and expertise in media strategy, audience strategy, measurement, innovation, technology, agency governance, and scale. The role owns the portfolio business need, prioritization, activation, and outcomes, while Digital Operations enables the enterprise capabilities, governance, and implementation pathways required to deliver against those priorities.

Job Responsibilities

Portfolio Integrated Media Strategy & Planning

• Lead portfolio-level media investment strategy and activation priorities across HCP and DTP audiences in support of HIV Treatment Business Unit priorities.
• Translate portfolio strategy into clear business requirements, audience priorities, investment choices, and activation roadmaps across HCP and DTP audiences.
• Partner with brand teams to identify opportunities for complementary execution, coordinated sequencing, shared capabilities, and reduced duplication.
• Support annual planning and forecasting processes for media investments.
• Provide recommendations on media channel strategy, investment allocation, and optimization opportunities.
• Monitor media and customer engagement trends to inform portfolio optimization and planning.
• Partner closely with Portfolio Customer Experience lead to ensure media plan and execution aligns to holistic cross-channel portfolio experience strategy

Portfolio Activation & Agency Orchestration

• Ensure activation plans align with portfolio strategy, brand priorities, investment guardrails, and desired business outcomes.
• Align brand teams and agency partners around portfolio audiences, sequencing, timing, dependencies, and decision points.
• Establish portfolio activation requirements and resolve cross-brand conflicts or competing priorities.
• Partner with Digital Operations on agency governance, standards, operating processes, and enterprise media capabilities.
• Elevate strategic risks, tradeoffs, and investment decisions to portfolio leadership.

Portfolio Investment Stewardship

• Develop the integrated portfolio investment view across HCP and DTP.
• Recommend cross-brand investment priorities and tradeoffs based on business objectives, audience opportunities, launch needs, and expected impact.
• Establish business guardrails to reduce unintended audience overlap, internal competition, duplicative investment, and excessive cross-brand frequency.
• Partner with Finance, Brand Marketing, Digital Operations, and Analytics to support forecasts, scenarios, and portfolio investment recommendations.
• Bring forward portfolio-level investment cases and recommendations for leadership decision-making.

Performance Translation & Business Optimization

• Partner with Digital Operations and analytics teams to define the portfolio business questions, outcomes, and decision criteria that measurement must address and establish measurement plans to interpret performance across brands, audiences, and channels.
• Translate performance insights into portfolio investment, activation, content, and customer journey decisions.
• Identify opportunities to scale successful approaches, address underperformance, and share learnings across brands.
• Support communication of portfolio performance, tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; OR
• Master's degree and 10 years of relevant experience; OR
• PhD and 8 years of relevant experiene.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to translate business strategy into coordinated activation across media, digital, field, customer engagement, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of HCP and patient engagement strategies and the role of media, digital, analytics, customer experience, and emerging technologies in driving business outcomes.
• Demonstrated success managing complex media investments, portfolio budgets, and cross-brand resource allocation decisions.
• Experience partnering with analytics, digital, technology, or enterprise capability teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions and measurable business outcomes.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive alignment, and lead complex cross-functional initiatives within a highly matrixed organization.
• Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, portfolio management, and business case development capabilities.
• Ability to balance portfolio-level opportunities and tradeoffs
• Exceptional communication, executive presence, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
