Director, External Affairs
Description
BASIC PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
- Responsible for policy tracking, analysis, advocacy and drive policy shaping project through industry coalition and partnership
- Responsible for Central Government Affairs, including NHC, NHSA, NMPA, MoST, MOFCOM, MIIT, NDRC etc.
- Responsible for all policy think-tank, industry associations and trade associations
- Support function head for strategic partnership programs
- Responsible for North China (Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia) local government affairs and market access
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep track on policy dynamics for all Danaher business, including but not limited to 14th five year plan, two sessions, US-China relationship, industry development, regional development, foreign investment etc.
- Closely follow healthcare reform and life science, biopharma industry related policies, working closely with business to analyze the business impact and provide policy input for corporate and platform strategy.
- Develop campaigns, position papers and playbooks to support policy shaping, including but not limited to VBP, industry policies, trade policies etc.
- Actively participate related industry associations, representing Danaher’s best interest for advoacy
- Drive and execute the policy shaping project with think-tank on key policy topics
- Pursue broader GA opportunities through government or government affiliated agencies for partnership
- Fosters close collaboration with market access, commercial and other internal teams
- Market access, government affairs, crisis management in North China region

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & SKILLS:
Bachelor degree, Public Health, Medical background preferred
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 12-15 years expertise on policy, gov’t affairs, public affairs or market access role
- Working proficiency in English
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Strong analytical skills
- A self-motivator and always be proactive
- Effective analytical/problem solving skills that lead to innovative solutions
- Strong team player
- Good communicator in a matrix team
- Action oriented, customer-focused with effective prioritization and time mgt. skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to travel frequently
