What you’ll do

Job Description / Capsule

• Lead the R&I Business Unit’s evolution from channel-led digital marketing to customer-centric, insight-led and AI-enabled engagement, aligned with AstraZeneca Customer Engagement 2.0 and AI30 ambitions.
• Partner with Brand, Sales, Medical, Commercial Excellence, Market Access, Digital & IT and external partners to design and scale connected customer journeys that deliver relevant content through the right channel at the right moment.
• Translate customer, behavioural and engagement data into actionable segmentation, content, channel, next-best-action and investment decisions, with clear linkage to customer progression, business outcomes and patient impact.

• Serve as the BU capability owner for omnichannel marketing, responsible AI adoption and digital excellence, helping teams embed Customer Engagement 2.0 into brand planning and execution.

Typical Accountabilities

• Lead the BU Customer Engagement 2.0 strategy and roadmap, partnering with Brand, Sales, Medical and cross-functional teams to embed customer-first, connected HCP journeys into annual plans, with clear priority segments, customer needs, intended belief or behaviour shifts, engagement signals, interventions, owners and success measures.

• Orchestrate personalised omnichannel engagement across face-to-face and approved digital channels, using customer segmentation, personas, content strategy and responsible AI use cases—including insight synthesis, content recommendation, next-best-action, journey optimisation and campaign automation—to deliver relevant experiences at scale.

• Build the data, technology and measurement foundation for Customer Engagement 2.0 by partnering with Digital & IT, Commercial Excellence and Data teams to strengthen CRM readiness, data quality, consent, tagging and integration; establish OKRs, dashboards and closed-loop analytics; and use experimentation to optimise customer progression, business impact, productivity and return on investment.

• Drive compliant adoption and continuous improvement by governing digital and AI-enabled activities, managing agencies and technology partners, building omnichannel and AI capability across teams, and scaling proven practices while stopping low-value or non-scalable activity.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in Digital marketing, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Experience in leading Digital marketing campaigns and content management.
• Proficient in using data analysis tools and metrics tracking to support decision-making.
• Confident in communicating in English (spoken & written) environment.

• Analyzes and deconstructs problems into their constituents. Sees the bigger picture and prioritizes the right issues. Works well with complex issues and solves complicated problems
• Remains motivated and effective in spite of setbacks and disappointments. Works until the project is complete and a result has been achieved
