About the job

Be part of a once-in-a-generation project that’s shaping the future of insulin.

Sanofi is building a cutting-edge, fully automated insulin drug substance facility in Frankfurt – a bold investment that builds on our legacy of excellence in insulin manufacturing. This sustainable, next-gen biologics site will support the entire portfolio of insulins, from development to delivery.

Join us at the forefront of this global transformation. As part of a cross-functional program team, you’ll help bring this facility to life – from early design and construction through to readiness for commercial manufacturing. Your work will help turn the miracles of science into reality for millions living with diabetes.

Main responsibilities

• Act as the owner's commercial and contractual authority across the construction lifecycle, providing governance and assurance over the contract management performed by our EPCM partner.
• Build and sustain a strong, constructive partnership with the EPCM — challenging and validating their commercial positions, decisions, and reporting rather than duplicating their work.
• Work closely with the owner's-side quantity surveyors on measurement, valuation, cost checking, and the independent assessment of contractor applications and claims.
• Oversee change and claims management: review and test variations, change orders, and contractor claims to protect Sanofi's position, and support negotiation and settlement.
• Ensure commitments, change orders, and payment milestones flow correctly from the contracts into the project cost forecast and change register, in step with project controls.
• Provide owner assurance over contractor performance, obligations, notices, warranties, securities, and insurances, through to clean contract close-out.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risk to the owner, escalating early where exposure warrants.

About you

• Education/Experience: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or a related field is required; Proven contract management experience on large-scale construction or capital projects (pharma, EPC, or comparable regulated industrial environments), ideally on the owner's side overseeing an EPCM or main contractor; comfortable dealing with both German and international construction contractors
• Soft and technical skills: Strong commercial and contractual judgement with a partnering mindset; effective change, claims, and negotiation capability; the ability to work hand-in-hand with quantity surveyors and project controls; familiarity with German and international construction contract forms (e.g. VOB/B — Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen, the German construction-contract standard — and FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers forms); the confidence to hold a contractual line while keeping delivery moving.
• Languages:Fluency in German and English (project language); additional languages welcome
