China Platform Engineer

Whether you are digitizing drug discovery and development, identifying solutions, or making our work easier and faster, you will be making a difference to countless lives.</p><p></p><p><b>What You Will Achieve</b></p><p>We are seeking a China Platform Engineer who will be responsible for managing all engineering activities for platform technologies, including databases (SQL Server, open-source DBs, etc.) and mid-tier services (.NET, IIS, middleware platforms) in Dalian, China. This role requires strong hands-on engineering experience, ensuring platform deployments are compliant with China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) while also aligning with global engineering standards and lifecycle processes.</p><p> </p><p>The Platform Engineer will collaborate with global platform engineering teams, local application teams, security &amp; compliance leads, and operations teams to deliver secure, compliant, and reliable platform services that support business operations in China.</p><p>  </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>1. Platform Engineering &amp; Delivery</b></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Follow Global Standards with respect to Design, implement, and manage databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, open-source DBs). This primarily includes AWS RDS databases like Aurora MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle SE2.</p></li><li><p>Deploy and manage mid-tier services including .NET, IIS, middleware platforms.</p></li><li><p>Ensure platforms are resilient, scalable, and aligned with business/application requirements.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Global team on automation for provisioning, patching, monitoring, and scaling of platforms.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>2. Compliance &amp; Security</b></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Ensure all platform engineering activities comply with PIPL, DSL, CSL.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Security &amp; Compliance leads to enforce encryption, access control, and audit logging.</p></li><li><p>Maintain platform documentation for audit readiness.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>3. Collaboration &amp; Stakeholder Engagement</b></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Work with local application teams to understand new platform requirements.</p></li><li><p>Align with global engineering teams to introduce new database and middleware capabilities in China.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth handover and support readiness.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>4. Lifecycle &amp; Standards</b></p><p> </p><ul><li><p>Ensure all databases and middleware platforms follow global lifecycle policies (patching, upgrades, refresh).</p></li><li><p>Standardize builds and configurations to align with global reference architectures.</p></li><li><p>Monitor performance, capacity, and costs for platforms.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>5.
