We are looking for an Associate Vice President for our Product Management team in our Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) in Agilent’s Life Sciences and Diagnostics Group (LDG).
In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for heading a team of 3 Directors, 1 Senior Product Manager responsible for CDD Portfolio strategy, and 1 Assistant. The team is counting a total of 40+ employees.
The CDD Division has a rich legacy in developing products and solutions for clinical end-users in the pathology and NGS market. We lead with a customer-first approach to understanding current and future needs of our customers and provide competitive solutions that meet or even exceed them.
Our pathology portfolio consists of superior workflow solutions of highly competitive automated systems, software, and assays developed and maintained for operating globally in the regulated in vitro diagnostic (IVD) market. Our NGS offering plays a pivotal, enabling role in making NGS scalable and reliable, through target enrichment and workflow integration.
The Associate Vice President will become a member of the CDD Core leadership team and will report to the VP/GM of CDD.
Your responsibility in this role:
- Oversees the development and comprehensive strategy of the CDD product portfolio from definition and planning through production, enhancement and end of life.
- Translate strategies into actions for the Product Management team based on deep knowledge of the end-markets and customer segments
- Identify opportunities to drive sustainable business growth, including defining and executing on long-term plans for cost/profit control
- Collaborates with sales and commercial marketing to support the development and prioritization of go-to-market strategies and campaigns.
- People management of direct reports and lead continuous team development and competence evolution
- Set performance objectives for team and conduct performance appraisals of direct reports
- Talent identification, development and retention
- Ensure allocation of resources to projects and marketing activities – accountable to plan, budget and priorities
- Ensure a seamless cross-functional partnership with commercial teams, Global Operations, Medical & Clinical Affairs, R&D, and external partners to align on product priorities and execution plans
- Ensure the Quality System and Agilent policies are appropriately used in all relevant activities.
You will interact closely with colleagues across the entire Agilent organization at all levels. We would also expect you to interact with external customers, partners, key opinion leaders, quality organizations and scientific collaborations when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Science or Engineering with deep understanding of the diagnostic industry
- Broad knowledge and profound understanding in product management with proven track record
- Experience in sales, business development or similar is preferred
- Exposure to P&L responsibility, and the related financial acumen needed to drive business decisions and outcomes
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and collaborating across multiple departments and functions
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels across the organization
- Strong business analysis skills with proven ability to deliver results and motivate teams
- Structured approach and excellent planning skills
- Typically, 10+ years of increasing managerial experience.
- Must be fluent in English, oral and written
- Ability to travel up to 25% at times, both domestic and international
